A 1-3 LSU may need a QB change in week 5 if Brennan is still unable to spot open receivers. Brennan has to be able to recognize and anticipate guys open faster, have a better pocket presence, and anticipation of the rush. He needs a lot of work as does LSU's secondary.

We don’t know how Johnson and Finley look in practice but I agree that it would be foolish to invest too much time in Brennan if he’s not the guy. Take your lumps and get another guy some experience for 2021.

We’re almost certainly going to be 2-2 but I kind of agree.

Orgeron is not going to change anything. They've made their bed with Brennan. The excuse this and next year will be rebuilding.

If Brennan continues to falter, getting another guy experience would not only seem logical but also critical for next season.

If we are 1-2 then we need a change. I wouldn’t give it another game.

I wouldn't throw either of the true freshman into the fire unless they are ready. Miles did that to Jarrett Lee his freshman year and the dude was scarred for life. He probably still wakes up in cold sweats.

I’d rather go 5-4 with Johnson or Finley than 7-2 with Brennan. When the play breaks down he’s not good and his internal clock is slow.

I agree but only if one of the two freshman look better in practice.

Wanting to bench him now is pure idiocy.

Lee was too fragile for the SEC. Brennan's body language yesterday left me wondering the same. Succesful QB'S in the SEC have to be warriors.

I would base it on how he plays not the team’s record. My unqualified evaluation of Brennan is that he played like what I would expect from a talented freshman. So if after the 4th game he still looks like a talented freshman, let’s put in an actual talented freshman and get him ready for the future. This is the perfect season for this, there won’t be many hostile environments he’ll get thrown into this year.

If LSU goes 1-3...You will see Max Johnson.

I heard...from an extremely credible source... that Max Johnson is the real deal and should have been the starter yesterday.

The source predicated Max Johnson would be the starter come week 4...and that was before the 10 game SEC only schedule.

Brennan was 27 for 45 for 345 yards. There were at least four drops which would have given him a 70% completion percentage and about 400 yards. Seems he is doing fairly well in locating openreceivers.

He did struggle with holding on to the ball, but there were several times where the rush got ponhim quickly from right up the middle.

Brennan will develop within the speed of the game with a few more games. His only prior experience was throwing dink passes inthe fourth quarter when LSU has had big leads. Everyone needs to take a big step back and let him grow into the role. There will still be some hiccups but I would expect fewer and fewer as he and the young receivers become more acclimated. Hopefully they won't need to produce 45 points / game to win the rest of the way.

Even if we’re 2-2 (more likely) but he looks scared and misses open receivers, he’s got to go. It’s been 4 years in the system, LSU already invested enough in him for this NOT to happen.

Keep in mind that the same QB coach who had Etling in 16 & 17, Burrow in 18, and Brennan the past 4 years is also "coaching" Johnson and Finley.

Then why is he currently third string?
