It's being discussed.

Estimated cost of a new arena is around $550 million.

To refurbish our existing one, looking at around $150 million.

Would be awesome but won’t happen because they just spent all that money on a practice facility. A new Arena would go in the same spot. And the fact the practice faculty was built in the same style of the PMAC means the ol girl isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Also it’s too dark. It looks dark and dull on TV. There’s something with how the lights point at the court. Watch a Big 10 game. Like at Michigan State or Ohio State. They know how to light the court for TV and it looks bright and vibrant. And it pops. It pops like Rennie Curran on a tackle.

lol @ Rennie Curran. I agree. It just looks like a dusty old Arena with the lighting. I think this year or last year, they moved to new bulbs, which are brighter and more fluorescent, but I still think we need MORE lighting to match that Big 10 “NBA” feel.

Alleva promised the administration would be behind him with several things and no one has kept their word yet.

I think they’ve been great so far. Beautiful new video board before he even coaches a game, along with huge improvements to student amenities. Right now, they’re supporting him best simply in his wishes to put more butts in seats. ($1 tickets, giveaways, better student experience, bathrooms, scoreboard, etc.

I just went to Cameron indoor stadium in December for a game. the students are along the sidelines and the baselines. then the chair back seats start above the student section.

Maybe we should only allow grad students to sit in those first few rows of sideline seats and give undergrads a few seats on the ends. Then we could be just like cameron indoor. Maybe even get rid of the A/C.

The PMAC is a good arena when its filled. The seats are terrible. The guy saying legroom isn't a problem is probably under 5 ft tall.

Alleva/Taf absolutely cannot drag their feet on getting bball a weight room and coaches offices inside the pmac or in the practice facility. Wade will be gone if they continue to take their time.

Any idea what usage of the land would be of where PMAC located now? That would be the added benefit of the cost differential.

LSU can't maintain the facilities they have now, but they continue building more and more. Crazy

I do not know that at this time. The only thing I know is that it is being discussed and the numbers (or very close to) I have shared, those have been discussed as well.

Keep but re-model the PMAC. Right location, the ramps need to go, and inside work could remake it into a beautiful facility.

No offense, but let’s see a consistent, improved product on the court before we commit to a new arena.

Yeah, we're not Texas A&M who literally jizzed all over themselves as soon as Johnny Football came to town and went straight back to their mean afterwards.

I guess my point to that was that the students stand in bleachers the blue hairs sit in the seats above, but they are still great seats because the bleachers only comprise 8 rows

If you were in the PMAC during the 80's, you wouldn't complain. Place was rocking. The problem is not the building, it is the lack of a competitive team for an extended period of time
correct. I was there in the 70s and 80s and the place was fantastic.

We don't need a new arena - just a winning and exciting team.

WW gets this program rolling and the PMAC will rock.

It's pretty simple.

I've been there when Shaq, Blanton, CJ, Rudy, Ethan, Scales, Baby, Taz, Vernell, Big John Williams, etc. played in big games and it was great.
