Another problem is that three of the bigger names you’d want to reach out to are already at their Alma Maters which will make it more difficult to pry them away
Brent Key - GA Tech
Clark Lea - Vandy
Kenny Dillingham - AZ State

The Tulane coach has been pretty damn good for the job he is at.
He obviously knows the state of Louisiana because he recruits it year after year.
We saw what he did with limited resources at Tulane.
Why not give him a look.

There really are no can't miss hires in college. Saban and Urban Meyer were about it. That was before NIL, etc. Smart has had great results at UGA, but NIL is even weakening UGA. They are not as dominant as they were.
I think these days you really need a head coach who gives you a big strategic advantage on offense or defense. I think the CEO types won't be as successful now that you can't stockpile talent as easily as years ago with NIL. It's also easier to fix things if you only need to fix the side of the ball that the head coach doesn't specialize in.

I’d be good with Rhett Lashlee

There isnt one and within the first year there will be a faction of the fanbase ready to run whoever it would be off and want a new coach.
Im not happy with Kelly but this fanbase is never satisfied, period.
Sure we were happy after 2019 but that satisfaction didnt last long at all.
So many here act like LSU is some blue blood football program with a storied career of winning championships since the beginning of the sport. Newsflash, it isnt.

It’s a risk but the 10 year $100 MM contracts for “proven” coaches are much riskier.
100M for a “can’t miss” coach is terrible.

Re-treads are not the answer. Chasing "HC experience" is what got us Kelly. This is a loser scenario

If it ended with another championship, maybe so. #Nohomo

We will NEVER have enough $$ to Match Oregon

You’d have to offer Lanning first imo
The roadblock with Lanning is Oregon has more money in their sofa cushions that LSU could ever come up with.

If you call saban up and he says he will come back for 3 years at 15mm a year, what do you do?

There isn't a cant miss hire. But you have to keep shooting til you hit.

The Can’t Miss hire is someone no one on this board knows about.
But…. He’s the clear choice to people in the know.
