30+ yard plays?

Yeah just a 27 yd TD pass, a 24 yd pass, a 17 yd pass, & a 21 yd run. All of those passes to Jackson Harris btw

You acting like he is some superstar. You have no clue what you are talking about and clearly are trolling. Joe Burrow wasn't worth near 31 points and you think this cat is....lmao. of course, people thought the bama qb was all that too....

I thought one of the best takes was yes they had injuries on offense but we scored 31 against a defense that was healthy. I believe even with their qb and rb playing it still would not have been close.

The QB position was not their issue yesterday.

Was their main issue actually… State offensive scheme completely different w/o Taylor…

Did you even entertain the fact that the offensive game plan might have been to mitigate risk since Mississippi state was going to be challenged offensively?

You know, football in real life is not like football on Playstation

Bro learn some football please.. Arnett the DC from state runs his defense to prevent explosive plays down field. So it was impressive lsu was able to stay disciplined and play the short game and drive up and down the field all game

And still dropped 31….Miss St played two high safeties all game and instead of forcing the ball down field Sam took what they gave him.

another wishcasting tiger rant poster. If this happened, if that happened, well, it didn’t. Plus, you’re not very football smart if you think we still wouldn’t have won the game with Kamario playing. We had their receivers blanketed most of the time, and even though they did have a bit of a run game, we stuffed them when it counted.

We intentionally had a short passing game plan due to the weather conditions and the fact that state has the absolute worst pass defense in the nation. The game plan was intended to be that way.

We didn't need those to win. Simple enough. Why use 30+ as the metric for explosive plays? The typical explosive plays in passing are 20+ yard plays (some use 15+), and rushing are 12+.

In this game, LSU had 2 explosive passing plays (3 if you use 15), all to Harris, and 1 explosive running play (Jones). One of the passing plays was a TD, and the one for 15+ was also a TD.

To make a determination about what would have happened if Taylor played requires too many assumptions about too many things. It was the same offense run against our defense. Taylor likely wouldn't have had any more time than Pucket. But that is also an assumption.

It was a very strange game statistically. I don't remember another one like it. We win the game 31-0 but we had less time of possession than MST. And MST is a hurry up offense. That makes it harder to predict a winner, IMO.

I was at the game, and I’m confident that if Kamario played the game would have been a nail biter till the very end. We looked good, but slightly above average. The offense had zero explosive 30+ yard plays. I’m concerned about our vertical threat being non existent. How do we fix that?

frick off. Their defense is awful and we let off the gas to shorten the game. We easily could have scored 50+ driving the field.

now let's do if LSU didn't have three starters out for the game! we would have still won.

What about if we get the following players back:

Trey'dez Green
Whit Weeks
Deshawn Spears
Phillip Wright
A healthy Princewell all game
100% Leavitt

Then what?

There is not telling how it turns out, but he was having a great season up until the injury. Even with it, he was semi respectable in the Alabama game.

The entire game plan on offense and defense changes when you don't have the ability to threaten on offense. The defense played soft coverage all game with a few instances of taking some aggressive chances. Sam ate on a lot of lateral and short throws, as he should have since it was right there for the taking. The idea that this is a 31-14 game as one poster claims is asinine if Kamario is healthy.

Puckett made barely a handful of passes downfield and only one deep shot. Kamario would attempt and succeed in a lot more of those. I don't care what old boy saw at a QB camp; Kamario's body of work this season speaks for itself. The LSU offense had zero pressure to score; who knows what happens if State and a healthy Kamario is able to trade blows.

Y'all won, and a win is a win, but this game didn't prove a whole lot for LSU. Wins at home against bad teams (Clemson, TAMU), lower level teams (LA Tech, McNeese) or injured teams (Miss State) and then losses to good teams on the road doesn't prove much for LSU at this point. That could change, but I think there's 2-3 more losses coming (Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee).
