re: If I was Kelly then I'd make it clear we're only recruiting run/pass option QB's.

It’s kind of sad because Nuss is by far the most NFL ready QB he has ever had and will be the most successful at the next level.

laugh all you want....he is actually better suited for the NFL...huge arm, and already was going through progressions last year when rolling out. I have no idea what they were doing with him Sunday night, don't know if they were scared of getting him hurt, but they clearly held him back a lot, and he did very well anyway. People like you though, laughing at him. He has the tools to be a superstar...and he will be damn good once he gets a little experience under his belt. The NFL is a different beast....the majority of the great dual threat QBs from college never make it...even the few that do seem to fold when in the playoffs...there are a few exceptions. Will be curious to see how JD does once the real season starts.

How about Bryan Kelli just sucks dyck..
But since he isn’t going anywhere he should just get out of the way of his coordinators. Let the young coaches prove themselves

This thread definitely needs bookmarked. You have no fkn idea what Nuss will be like in 2 years. He has started a total of 2 games. In contrast, both Burrow (who hadn't started either until his 4th year) and JD (who had started for THREE years prior to LSU) were not world beaters their first year starting at LSU. Both were in the 5th-7th round projections going into the year....and right out of the gate JD lived up to that projection last year against Florida State.

This is a bs take, but what little I've read from you, expected.

We should have been able to out recruit Boston College for their QB who just smoked FSU.

Ok . We will see. It’s not that Nuss is not a good QB becuz he is. But having both the ability to throw a great ball and great running skills is hard to stop. We got stuffed on third and short if Daniels was playing that probably would hv been a touchdown!!! And we win the game.

It's kind of bizarre how many of y'all seem to think every running QB is Jayden. Even Jayden wasn't Jayden until his 5th year as a starter.

yet good defenses do stop it all the time. Florida State smacked down Daniels last year....they never went against another good d other than bama last year.

It is funny all the NFL greats that won superbowls, Brady, Manning, Brees, and on and on, didn't run a lick yet won at the top level. In addition, Brady did it at 40. Why is that? Why do the majority of dual threat qbs that were great in college flame out quickly in the NFL? Hell even Lamar is a massive choke artist in the playoffs.

How did the Michigan QB win it last year? How did the limited athlete at GA win back to back championships? This is insane.

I was telling someone the other day. Glad LSU didn’t go get the New Mexico State QB.

Can tell that kid will do whatever is needed to win.

that happens when you play teams like Furman....lol

So, who do you think will play in the NFL, the new mexico state kid or Nuss? Who will be drafted higher?

BK can’t survive without a running QB

His most successful years at his previous 2 stops came with a white guy who ran a 4.65 at the combine and another white guy who ran a 4.90.

I don’t know if Nuss runs a 4.65 but he damn well doesn’t run a 4.90.

I’m glad you’re not Kelly. You take best available player and gel your team around those guys to mage their best even better.

Nuss would benefit from i formation I think, so there is actually running threat every snap in between or outside the tackles.

But you will lose his expertise and potential growth with threading the ball with lots of WR and going through his progressions

nuss has ran....I honestly believe they told him not to run because of chance of injury with no one really behind him....but that will have to change. Run in opportune times and get down quickly when you hit the sticks.

McCarthy and Bennett were both running threats
