What does this have to do with Paxtons offer to drop out and there being zero reason why anyone should trust his word?
He offered to drop out if Coryn would get the save act passed. It is as simple as that.

He did offer. And I’m simply pointing out that no one would take any offer from him seriously because he’s untrustworthy. It’s like when the bum on the corner has a sign begging for food money. Yeah there’s a chance he’ll use it for food, but we all know he’s full of shite.

You’re even more batshit crazy than the other guy. I have zero desire to try to discuss anything serious with you.
Funny I can’t recall any interactions with you and you feel this way. Sounds like another guy on here who can’t ever have rational discussions without worrying about me and angel.

You have to appeal to more than the base in a general election
But if he couldn't even win his own voters, I doubt Democrats come out of the woodwork to vote for him.
This crap is the argument of people who don't want to lose.
They vote for their guy in the primary and he loses and they lose. Then they are left with no choice (because they can't stand thinking that their opinion is in the minority) than to make loud noises in a no loss proposition for their ego.
Instead of admitting they they were wrong and lost, they seek to justify their previous position by saying the favorite candidate can't win. The outcome of the general is a win, no matter what, for them.
Scenario 1: the other party candidate wins, and they can imagine that their candidate WOULD HAVE won. Ego intact.
Scenario 2: The candidate they voted against in the primary wins, and suddenly it is a credit to the strength of the party they belong to. Ego intact.
They are insufferable, because there is no chance for introspection and they don't give a damn about it.
The only thing you can do is recognize the process and ignore them. There is no meaningful reward to the efforts to call them out on this. It has been around for many decades. Know the signs and do not engage.

Political suicide by doing so. Would not fly with even the most devoted republican voters.

I don’t think it would be. People are already overlooking a lot of ick on him. I don’t think that would be what sinks him. Hell I think a bunch of people would applaud it.

Cornyn was long gone before this election because of his behavior his buddy Thune is next when he’s up. Paxton knew Cornyn wouldn’t take the deal and that’s why it was made.

Thune is a dead man walking. He will get primaried in short order.

A am a devout publican and that would be a deal breaker for me.

Of course they are. The ick on him is not as thick as corynys is though. That is why he beat him by 20 something points.

Yep. Can’t wait to see how much Trump throws at that election after he’s out of office. I can also see Thune retiring to save that embarrassment.

for the RINOs waiting out Trump and then MAGA splintering, seems a strategic safe bet

That's actually a really good point.
No, it’s a terrible point. There are legions of examples in which a primary winner is longer odds than the primary loser would have been. The reason is that it is two different electorates.
The democrats often spend money to get a weaker republican to win the primary so that they can more easily beat him.

Cornyn is a complacent old Bush RINO. Paxton offered to end his primary campaign in exchange for passing the Save Act.
I voted for Hunt in the primary but didn't think twice and voted Paxton in the runoff and I'm not a queer commie so I voted for him this week too

MAGA is not just trump. That is the difference.

I almost voted for the gun grabbing tranny today, but then I realized "Paxton is a liar with ick" is the most in depth analysis his opponents have ever put out about him and nobody even knows what that means, so I went ahead and pushed the button for Paxton.

When it's leaderless, rudderless it will lose steam
MAGA in just the evolution of the Tea Party. It will be something else. It will probably be called the America First movement but it will be different because a different personality will become the face

Why are the conservatives saying we should have compromised our values and voted for the establishment candidate to win an election the same ones praising Massie for being uncompromising and losing his seat?
Aren't those two positions contradictory?

They’re butthurt maga continues to win without them. That’s what they’re forgetting, them not voting doesn’t hurt as MAGA is the largest group voting, it was shown in the primaries.
