I wonder why people don't throw a fit that the staff didn't develop Al Woods. Funny how people only care about Shep. No one cares about Hester, Mathieu, and Claiborne successes either.

Or Chuck Scott and Ridley. Or the host of offensive linemen that have been developed.

So RS signed with Philly? If so, good for him.

Good question since everyone from the Houston area that is not a Tiger fan says we ruined the best QB out of high school that year. I told them it's not like we forced him to come to LSU when every school in the nation wanted him.

it'll just further add to the "he shoulda gone to Oregon" talk, which I don't necessarily agree with, but hey. what do I know?

ultimately, I think if Shep turns into a productive NFL player it'll just be because he found an offense that suited his skillset in terms of scheme and personnel. kinda doubting it happens, but I'm pulling for him all the way.

More interest in RS than a lineman or other player is due to his apparent huge upside and flashes of brilliance. He got limited touches and they were either no gain or tackled for loss, dropped pass or 75 yard sprint to the end zone. Just felt like he was a break out game away from being awesome.

Shep isn't even on the team anymore and we're still having the "is this the year Shep breaks out" threads. Let it go dude.

Name one QB that Chip Kelly has developed in the NFL that is at least a pro bowler?

Good analogy here for Kelly vs Miles because Chip is one year removed from college game and Rant has said numerous times that RS would thrive in Oregon system. Only reason to bring this up if RS went anywhere else then not even enough in common to make a thread.

Well, it's a legitimate question since Oregon had so many more players drafted than LSU proving Les can't develop players... Oh, wait....

Well. it's a legitimate question once you consider that Matt Barkley was a front runner to win the Heisman and when he lived up to his potential and won it and was drafted in the first round and RS wasn't....Oh , wait....

Well, it's a legitimate question once you consider how fantastic Bryce Brown the number 1 recruit, how Pryor, the number 1 recruit both lived up to their potential and were developed by their coaches....oh, wait....

Of course Shep will be better under Kelly. Our offensive scheme has been the problem, not the players.

The Rant's obsession with RS is so OOC that I automatically think "troll thread" everything I see his name or initials.

Will Chip be called a great coach and developer of talent or will Miles be seen wasting one of the most highly recruited players of recent past ?

Or he held back and underperformed to give the Rant a reason to complain about Les Miles.

Russell Shepard is the Kate Upton of the Tiger Rant.

I am also leery of RS threads but this one is right in the "what if " wheelhouse. If RS transferred to Oregon in his sophomore year that be a subject we all would type our fingers to the bone to chime in?

It'll probably mean Shepard was just a bad fit for the LSU system.
