No, they only give it to players playing in the championship these days. Guaranteed if Clemson had beaten Ohio State, you’d be watching Trevor Lawrence’s acceptance speech right now.

Would Smith win the Heisman at LSU this season? I think not. Mac was the real Heisman this year.

The Heisman votes were due before the playoff games. Thus the playoff and bowl games had no impact on the vote.

Bama was the real Heisman. They give it to the best player on the sexiest offense/team. Last year LSU was the sexy team. This season it’s clearly Bama to this point.

Lan, Where should LSU football fit into Chase’s priorities? Should it be above his health? His earning potential for the remainder of his life? Of course not.
I have ownership in a business, from which almost all of my income derives. Although I love rooting for the Tigers, and I had a blast last year, none of that is as important as my livelihood. If I had a choice between LSU dominating college football for the next ten years and my business doing poorly, or the other way around, I would choose my business by a mile. That’s having things in the proper perspective, and that’s where Chase seems to be.
