weird.
.yall put so much into the bama game. truth is, a great performance and a loss still keeps burrow at the top. bama wins 42-38, for example. lsu still wins out and plays for nc.

burrow wins.

billy cannon did not win the heisman the year lsu won the 1958 national championship. fyi. many young fans and bandwagoners have no clue about that

I don't know about best of all time. Burrow is the best QB I've ever seen play in 40 years of being a Tiger fan.

i downvoted a comment in error...

This is laughable....it is true

I would put Bert Jones (The Ruston Rifle) w any of them but then it is impossible to describe BEST w-out comparing the players around them and the style of play of the time.

Burrows may have had the greatest impact on the team.

Cannon was basically the best kid in PE class.

Yea...this just isn’t true at all. Cannon was 6’1 and over 200 pounds and was considered an elite athlete. He was fast and strong before all of the weightlifting and nutrition programs, he would probably have been elite even if he played today’s college football.

Joe Burrow is already the greatest QB in LSU history and if you don't know that by now, you are severely delusional.

He's going to have all the records so he will go down as the best "passer" for sure, but you need hardware to be the best ever. Comparable to Marino.

Usually I would agree but Cannon was way ahead of his time physically. He was big enough and fast enough to play in today’s game from what I understand.

Regardless of what happens the rest of the season.

Hell no! What if he throws 10 interceptions causing us to lose a couple of games?

If Burrow continues playing as he has, regardless of the Bama outcome, he's the best in the modern era - say, 1980 onwards. It's just impossible to compare him to a guy like Bert Jones. You guys who never saw Jones play just have no idea what an amazing QB he was. He was far more talented than Burrow, but back then they didn't run complex offenses that had tons of reads. It was pretty much the Al Davis/Les Miles offense of punch your back up the gut, until they're leaning forward, then play action over their heads. But Bert Jones was a top tier NFL talent.

I've never seen a better QB at LSU

Mettenberger had more arm talent, but he wasn't nearly as good as Burrow

I don't remember much about Bert Jones...he had the best NFL career of any LSU QB that I can think of...

so is Burrow better than Jones?

You would have to be a fool to try and argue with this.

No, only a Heisman or NC can cement that.
It's just Bama.

I think he already is.

But if he defeats the Tide tomorrow, then without question.

Is Joe beating Bama and winning the Heisman better than Billy Cannon beating Ole Miss and winning the Heisman?

If I start getting upvotes, does that mean I'm becoming one of them?

If Burrow leads LSU to victory in similar manner Tommy Hodson did to Auburn, then I would say yes.
