If Aranda substitutes, TCU loses and LSU goes to 4.

I will admit what TCU's Sonny Dykes did with 15 seconds left on the clock I have not ever seen. However, if Aranda had slow walked a sub or two, the game clock goes to zero and the Baylor Bears win.
Say it ain't so.

I’d rather TCU make the playoff and LSU end up playing them in the 2/3 game

Doesn’t really matter. Michigan and Ohio State is our window. Plus we have to beat Georgia. That TCU los wouldn’t have provided us any more security than we already have.

It doesn’t matter. Being at 4 this week doesn’t mean a thing.

Don’t matter!!
Idk why y’all obsess with our rankings now. If we best Georgia we will be in, period

I thought the same thing, I know I have seen other coaches do that on defense.

If Illinois doesn't go conservative on their last drive, they win and Michigan is out.

Can you do that? I thought that would fall under DoG on defense and stop the clock? I liked the idea of letting them rush their FG unit on to kick it. I’d imagine most of the time he doesn’t make that kick. It just didn’t work out this time.

That’s not true. When the clock is under 40 secs in the game and a team immediately runs their field goal unit out, the umpire does not stop the play.

Yes, my thoughts thinking Aranda felt he just was not going to make the kick.
However, with no time left we know he certainly does not make the kick.

Yep. Dave messed that up ... as did the official who should have been standing over the ball, but instead quickly set it, and got out of the way.
Wrong

I’m hardly concerned we even end up at 4 anymore. Committee has given us so much respect we virtually got a Bama mulligan for losing to FSU. If we won week 1, we’d still be #5 behind the 4 undefeated P5 schools.
Go and beat Georgia and the committee will argue Georgia and USC at #4 while we sit in the #2/3 game against TCU while they figure out who plays #1 OSU.
Eta if our path ends up being TCU then USC to win the title, LSUs only remaining game where they’d be an underdog might just be the Georgia game only. What a dream season

I was thinking the same thing also. Since TCU substituted, Baylor should have substituted slow and let the clock run out. Aranda blew it.

I really just don’t think you can do that. A sub can’t interfere with the offense getting the ball snapped by slow rolling onto the field. We would’ve seen this by now.

This. The rulebook states that the defense should be anticipating a FG at that point in the game and should have the FG defensive unit prepared to run on the field.
