Giving any one an extension for football contracts this year would not be good.

So who you going to riot with?
The Gump Trolls and the spoiled millennials?
Y’all have fun.

Helpful hint, no one that can make a change gives a care how you feel.

Gotta admire Derek Ponamsky that fricking felon.

He convinced everyone that this was a rebuilding year. That 7 wins was elite with this schedule including 7-5 Miami and Auburn and 8-4 Moo State because he knew anything over that would get O an extension.

Why the frick do ADs fall for this bullshite that HCs need a 4 year contract to recruit. frick OFF.

I’m vehemently opposed to LSU extending O. His hire was based upon the expectation that he would improve the program over what Les left behind. He hasn’t done that.

That being said, LSU is in a tough spot. If you don’t extend him, you know the old argument: can’t recruit effectively with lame duck status hanging over him.

Do contracts at this level even just expire anymore? When was the last time a P5 HC didn’t either step down or get fired?

Dude, chill out. In 2 full seasons, he's 9-4 and 9-3, can get to 10-3, and you want to fire him already? Are you insane?

Should we expect anything other than an extension?

I just want to NOT extend him when he hasn’t accomplished dick and is still under contract through the 2021 season. I don’t think that’s insane at all.

Uh, yeah. It is. Especially when you take the title of the thread into account.

They have to give him one for recruiting. If not, it will be open season on him for negative recruiting and that crap scares away recruits more than anything. The key is to not increase his buyout at all so it can be gotten out of, if necessary.

I wasn’t a fan of the hire. He did better than I expected this season, but he isn’t a great coach and I don’t see him ever winning any titles. Still, this probably has to happen to give him a chance to compete in recruiting.

the buyout is of more interest than the extension itself

You know the Alleva negotiation tactics: bid against yourself and give the most years. I'd be shocked if the buyout is less than 10 million because he's that stupid
