You people always make these straw man arguments and it’s no wonder why. We averaged 27ppg vs the SEC and scored 23 vs FSU. Now if you think that’s a lot of points you just don’t know what you’re talking about. Elevating rent a win stats above the real schedule is an old and tired tactic from pumpers.

You responded to a post about scoring with a stat about yards per pass attempt. Then get triggered by the very question that your response begs to be asked.

3 weeks ago people were talking about JD being a Heisman candidate.

Jayden Daniels was never at any point in time a Heisman candidate. That was something that was made up by people on this board.

So you would rather have been a 6-6 with flashy passer that throws a lot of ints. You get enamored with shiny objects gotcha.

And now people on this board are making dumb threads like this one. That was my point.

So 204 yds passing in 1st half against best D in country with a bum ankle isn't enough for you? LOL. And #99 for GA who wreaked havoc on the Oline didn't even play in 4th qtr but you annoint Nuss the heir because he scored on the backups when the game was over?

Passes don’t really count unless they travel more than 20 yards in the air.

Nuss had one good half. He's inconsistent. Also, daniels threw some darts out there. Accurate. I can see why it was a close comp

JD starting over Nuss was less about JD being a runner (it did have something to do with it) and more about taking care of the football. Or possibly not thinking Nuss was ready while JD has 3 years starting experience.

Nabors dropped a bomb from Daniels. Daniels underthrew it and UGA's corner did interfere with him before it got there, but when the ball ultimately got there, it went straight through Nabors' arms. He just dropped it.

The UGA DB NEVER let go of Nabors' right arm. No way I fault Nabors for not hauling that in.

Also, I'm not sure what happened with Thomas on the ball in the end zone that he got hurt on, but it was a good pass and he seemingly tried to catch it with one hand and it ended up incomplete.

Thomas only got one hand on the ball because that's all he was able to get on it. DB had great position. BTJ made a terrific attempt at it. Would have been a highlight reel TD if he had hauled it in.

Sorry, but those are not drops. A drop is when a receiver gets two hands on the ball and doesn't haul in a pass that 99% of receivers would normally make.

Those balls weren't even 1 percenters.

Yes, but if there is no threat of downfield throws the defense creeps up and the short to intermediate throws get harder and the run game suffers and most of the time that translates to less points on the board, so it's relevant.

Well the coach will be here a lot longer than Malik and he is the one in charge of the program

I was having this conversation with another Tiger fan this weekend:

How much does the running QB have to add with his legs to make him a better option than the better passer?

My take - the running QB is rarely the better option unless the OL is poor (which it was to start the season) or there is a lack of talent at WR (which is not at all true in LSU's case)

Also - which is easier to teach?

Reading the defense, seeing the field, having the confidence to trust your playmakers or?

Reading the defense, recognizing coverages, being less of a gunslinger?

I am not sure which would be easier to teach. Sure, JD is further along in his college career, but Nuss has presumably been getting professional coaching to some extent from his dad his whole life.

Also - surely Nuss Dr. sees where his son's game needs improvement. I would guess it's something they talk about a lot.

You're right, he isn't the coach, but they get to see it first hand who can deliver them the ball the best, who has more faith and trust in them and who utilizes their talents the best throughout the entire field. So, although they can't make the ultimate decision who starts, they have a damn good idea who is the best deliverer of the ball to them and which QB would boost their draft stock the best. Malik's post game statement is proof of that.
