I would have accepted a failure on 4th and one better than the overtime loss

At least you could hold your head high knowing that you went down with the right attitude of playing to win rather than playing not to lose.

I was thinking that they would move the ball regardless, so might as well take a shot at keeping it away from them.

It is what it is. It be what it be.

If Lane didn’t know he can’t trust Baker he understands it now. He has to rely on his own coaching and judgement in these pressure situations over Baker.

Yeah right we would have went for it not got it and everybody would have bashed him for going for it instead of punting it. The main issue I saw on the 4th quarter is that gave up on the run, tried to put it in Sam's hands and he's not that good

We didn’t automatically lose if we don’t get the 4th and 1. We could have held them to a field goal and maybe had more time to score before end of regulation. No excuse not to go for it.

You play to win the game period

I would’ve gone for it…. I don’t have much confidence in our defensive coaching. I hope kiffin learn his lesson…… it wasn’t like we were stopping them on defense

I think his first inclination was to go for it, then he second guessed himself.

There never would have been a 4th and 1 if he hadn't run the retarded 3rd and 1 play

Yep. Go out there and try to win the game and if you get stopped, hope your defense bails you out. Instead you played scared, hoped your defense would at least hold them to a field goal or at most get a turnover. As though they didn't see this shite play out exactly like the South Carolina game literally the week before. They played into their hands. Kentucky was hoping we would do that. All because they knew they had a shot and that's all they needed.

I’m glad you don’t make the call. 4th &1 on your own 30-35 yard line. 1:30 to go in the game. You’re ahead by 3. Your opponent has no timeouts, and a suspect kicker.
You could punt and give him the ball on his own side of the field with no timeouts, or you could risk giving it back to him just outside the red zone.
I punt every time. I hope this team is in the exact same position against Texas and against Alabama. And punts.

He said as much. He thought about their kicker missing two field goals prior and believed the defense could at least hold them there. He was hoping for luck instead of having confidence in your guys. They've done it many times at home with different plays but at this very moment they had nothing? Why not put Deuce out there and push the line? Do that and you're golden.
