I wholeheartedly reject the concern that lsu could be next fsu/tennessee

the next staff will inherit more than enough talent to go 9-3/10-2 year 1.

It all boils down to the hire. I just think the chances of a bad hire are lower here than at either fsu or tenn.

lsu has too much institutional resolve and fundamental resources to descend into protracted years of shittiness.

Other sec west teams are passing us. Fan apathy setting in. Next hire is really important or we can easily become FSU

Will depend on how the program is managed going forward. I have faith in Woody, but nobody is infallible. We’re just going to have to wait and see

Nah. The cupboard isn’t bare, broski. The next coach will have a fricking plethora of talent to work with.

FSU fans never thought this would happen, and it started soon after they won a title

I agree. We’re only competent coaching hires away from being back where we need to be. It’s not a talent shortage, it’s coaching mismanagement. Once that’s corrected, we’ll be fine

But yes this hire must absolutely be a home run

Our talent may be grossly over stated.

Jimbo left fsu in bad shape with a poor culture and holes in the roster like at o-line, but they compounded their issued by hiring taggert. Norvell may be a bad hire as well but if the right coach followed jimbo they'd still be in good shape

I'm not arrogant enough to think it's impossible, but we have one inherent advantage over FSU and that's being the only major program in a talent rich state.

Why? The last two werent and both won titles.

With the resources and recruiting base LSU has they don't need a HR hire..it would be nice, but not necessary.

And the next coach will be challenged with rebuilding the offensive line which can take years.

And depending on their philosophy they may want to establish a new offensive identity. This isn't going to be an easy job so the right hire is crucial.

Not really…. Orgeron has completely mismanaged the roster. There’s a lack of talent and numbers at key positions. New coach will need to fill holes

FSU is a resource and admin support issue

Tenn has a poor recruiting base

We have one of the strongest recruiting bases in the country and we seem to have admin support for now. That being said, the next hire is critical to righting the ship. A bad hire could put us a decade behind, especially with Texas and OU coming to the SEC

LSU is the only team in college football since 2000 to have zero losing seasons and multiple NC’s

I mean, I think this team could have been a 9 win team under a competent staff so yeah, I agree.

Is this administration able to hire such a staff? Looking at Texas a&m, I’d say so. Woodward didn’t hire O he just didn’t have enough reason to fire him until now.

Despite what we're seeing on the field, there are several highly recruited younger guys on the roster right now. We aren't going to have Alabama or Georgia level offensive line talent, but we'll be as talented as any other team on our schedule.

Also, the new transfer allotment will help us tremendously.
