I will wait and see how we close out this year. If we finish strong its been a good year. The Troy loss was the only really low point so far.
We should be better next year but injuries, coaching changes, who stays and recruiting will have big impacts on how our season will go next year as much as our improvement.

LSU is not Ole Miss, never was Ole Miss, and we will never be Ole Miss.
And yet, here we are, with the worst coach in their history as the leader of our program. Talking about gettin em next year!
Or actually a couple of years from now. Lots of fixin to do!!

that game was not drastically different from our previous encounters with Bama.
it damn sure was different than the last 2 years when all we did was run LF and pass on 3rd and long (and bama's front 7 teed off on us). our offense mixed it up, spread the field and at least tried to win. they also kept our D off the field for the whole game so they didn't get gassed.

People being this excited over a loss is embarrassing
whether you admit it or not people are not excited about a loss; most expected bama to manhandle us and that didn't happen. we executed well against the best defense in football and stood toe to toe with them. that was unexpected and it gives reasonable fans reasons to be optimistic.
it's sad when fans like you complain that this board isn't toxic following a loss.

Very different, 1 under thrown ball and 2 balls over thrown and we'd be dancing in the streets.

Oh shite this guy was there.
So you saw the 24-10 loss too?
Congrats!
You don’t know anymore than the next idiot who post “we’re coming”
He said “we’re close” last year and we lost by 10.
We lose by 14 this year and says “we’re coming” and some get a chub.

Get back to shinning your milky white pumas, ironing your flatbills, starching your saggy jeans, polishing your gaudy gold chains, and playing your xbox as the oregon ducks (while chip kelly was coaching, of course) and scoring “tree fidddy a game dawg”.

So the excitement is from not getting throttled as many expected based on how poorly the team had played earlier in the year?
Yeah...if a BAMA fan said this to us after the game we'd see it as the backhanded compliment it is.

They outplayed Bama on the field

No, they didn't. WTF? Bama won the game easily. How does that happen when you outplay them? Bama outplayed LSU. There is a metric for measuring this; it's called points.
Every now and then the points can be deceptive - like when a fluke play happens such as a pass bouncing off a helmet resulting in a TD - but there was nothing like this in this game.
Very early on Bama grabbed the lead, then widened it. It was 14 - 0 in the first quarter, and it was never a one score game again. In fact, it moved to 21-3 in the fourth. That's what happens when one team CLEARLY outplays another.

Tom Petty gives this a thumbs up from the afterlife.

I think you Oalites see what you want to see, that game was not drastically different from our previous encounters with Bama.
People don't see that they've fallen prey to an illusion.
Lose to Troy, then lose to Bama by 14, looks like you're trending upwards.
Beat everyone down, go into Bama undefeated and lose by 14, you need to be fired.

and how.
Just don't call it a trick, though.
