just basing it off of what I SAW IN the spring game, I would say yes

Then tell us, coach, what did YOU SEE?

Again, he could not get hit and still didn’t complete even half of his passes.

Again I have no problem with him as the starter if he’s the best we have.

But it’s a testament to how bad QB play here has been for so long that people actually think his spring game stats are “good”.

He missed wide open wideouts. He was 14/29 in a non-contact game. The kind of thinking you’re referring to is logic btw.

You are right but you are wasting your time with this. They want to believe so badly. They aren’t concerned with the truth or even being rational. At all. They constantly look to the outlier. Expectations completely run amok. The same goes for the Burrows band wagoners. He’s has to decide to come here , learn the offense, and prove beyond a doubt that he deserves to play over guys that have put in a lot of time. A lot has to happen.

If we don't get this guy from Ohio state, Does anybody else feel confident about the way McMillan looked

i think mcmillan would do a solid job. this happens to be a year where we really need a qb to step up and probably carry us some games. i don't think mcmillan will do that, but it doesn't look like ln or mb are ready/good enough.

i'll also add that we may have the best defense in the country. easily top 5. so all 3 qbs aren't as bad as they looked during the spring game.

He did not complete 50% of his passes

He picked on a Kirklin and Neatherly the whole time.

What makes you have any confidence?

I dont Care if he wasn’t highly recruited, there is nothing he’s done so far that makes me think he’s anything better than what we’ve had in the past.

He was shaky the first couple of series, but after that I thought he looked composed, decisive, was accurate with his passes and did very well. I believe he gains more & more confidence in his abilities the more he plays.

Confident? Not really. But he looked better than I expected him to

This. But to be honest, even if he was a previously known elite QB who showed elite skill in the spring game, I'd still be skeptical.

The past few years have amp'd up my cynicism (more cynical than my normal already very cynical self) in the program doing what it needs to do to get back to a level where we're competing on a high level consistently.

If I'm taking off my cynical goggles, I'd say he looked more than capable of getting our offense on a productive enough track to win the games that we need to with the help of our great defense.

Just don't have the confidence in O.

I definitely would not say "confident" when it comes to any three of our QB's if you look at their collective performances at the spring game. If anyone came away with the "confident" feeling for any of our QB's after the spring game then they really don't know football.

Now that being said, I was really impressed with JM's escapability from the pocket and he looks like his passing can be adequate, but NO I am not confident just optimistic we can find a QB to run our offense.

True, but full contact and he looked light years better than any of our guys, over 70% completions.

He went 6-6 against Nebraska and over 70% in actual game play. 0 interceptions including spring games.

How is this even being debated??

You got this from a no touch scrimmage? His biggest play would have been a sack or a stripped ball in any real game.

Every single QB was 1 pass below 50% in a non-contact (for the QBs) scrimmage. No he didn't look "good". He looked more comfortable than the other two. That's it. Brennan has a significantly better arm, but looks rattled. Narcisse is very inaccurate,

THAT was my assessment also. Listened to the guys on ESPNU talk about LSU after the Spring game and their take was that LSU's weakness was the QB position. Probably the worst in the SEC, and the SEC overall is not noted for stellar QB play.

I think Brennan has the most upside but the kid needs to add some weight and some confidence. He would do very well to sit on the bench a year behind Burrow and get mop up duty early and often.

He's been on the team 3 years. During that time period it's not as if LSU's QB's were playing at an All American caliber. In fact, far from it. Yet, at a time LSU was desperate for good QB play, he still couldn't get on the field. There has to be a reason, right?

It reminds me of the big 2013 DL recruiting haul. That season (2013) LSU was desperate for good D-line play. Yet, other than Lacatoure, none of those guys could really get on the field. It was the same for 2014 when Godchaux, a true freshman, passed up most of that 2013 DL class. There was a reason, non of those guys (Bower, Gilmore, Herron, etc.) were THAT good.

Let me put it this way, I have more faith in McMillain than I do the line blocking for him.

He had a good spring game.

Scary that he performed better than the two we were depending on to lead us for the next 2 or 3 years.

"Good" is relative.
I'm looking for a quarterback who is sharp in execution. I just don't get that. Is he serviceable? Possibly. Is Brennan serviceable? Possibly. We are faced with the same question we have every year.

Who knows if Burrow will be an answer but we still have to wonder about the future.
It seems that no quarterback really wants to risk their career at LSU.
Is O putting all his eggs in the Gunnell basket?

We wasted a year with the foolish Canada hire. Now, we no proven offensive identity and O has bet the farm on Ensminger.

About as good as Jordan Jefferson ever looked, and it hurts me to just type that name again
