Yes

At least OP, wrong as he is, is rehashing points that have been much less hashed.

The buy out panic has been discussed ad nauseam. I will grant that claiming Ed and Scott are friends not being a common point, but that’s because it’s just a retarded observation.

The three reasons that give me pause.

1. 17 mil buyout. Maybe it can be wiped away maybe it can't, but it's a lot of money regardless and one of the main reasons we could never get rid of Miles.

2. Injuries. How many are legit and fake I don't know, but there are a lot of them. Doesn't excuse prior losses up to this point, but an easy sell for O to say he wasn't even given a chance to right the ship.

3. Despite Woodward's track record of the types of coaches he hires. I believe him and O to be friends, and have a more meaningful relationship than the public is led to believe. Regardless of what you think of O as a coach, he is an extremely likeable guy.

I could post a million reasons why he should be fired immediately, and I wish he would be. The more time passes I feel like these three reasons giving me more and more pause.

Why would he make such a statement? Serves no purpose. Just call your personal appointees and tell them you are requesting he be given 1 more year. Done deal or risk losing that appt and perks.

Let’s assume you’re right. Which you have absolutely no proof that he has done this. What happens if they don’t listen to him?

So you’re saying that the governor is going to strip LSU of these fundings because they decide to fire his buddy? Are you sure? Man I think that’s a big conspiracy stretch.

If he isn’t fired LSU is going to lose a lot more than 17m keeping him around.

Plus he is a liability off the field and the LSU brand.

I think it’s 99.99% now he is gone.

Bless your heart.

Sometimes you just know when you encounter someone who has never lead/ran a business before.

Point blank, LSU Football is a business. Business decisions will be made.

JBE is not inclined to throw O a lifeline and probably couldn't save him if he wanted to.

Yeah I just can’t see anyone trying to save him and would have no idea why they’d want to. Loyalties change quickly. Throwing a lifeline and cutting funding to save a hated public figure is not the smartest thing to do. That would be attacked publicly. No way that happens. Imagine the headline:

“Louisiana Governor threatens to defund LSU to save this man:

You're an idiot.

quote:

17 mil buyout.

Y'all act like this is a lot of money for a major program like LSU. And that we are going to cut O a $17 million dollar check. shite gets paid in installments.

quote:

Injuries.

Please...all programs deal with injuries. We deal with players getting injured, opting out for the year, and then transferring. No one wants to fight for O and play hurt. They are done.

Despite Woodward's track record of the types of coaches he hires. I believe him and O to be friends

Can't fix this line of thinking.

These were the people who were all in on O and are now trying to "softly" state why he should stay.

He has a point here. Why on gods green earth did he do this.

There's no way he's back next year. In most cases there's more downside than upside to a midseason firing so unless Woodward has a target who is available to talk (Petersen) but won't do it until the job is open then O will last until the last game or two. But for all you fire-breathing O- haters, at this point they're not letting him stay - they're making him stay. Would you really want to face the fans and media everyday as a dead man walking?
