He was average. But average would have been good enough to beat Auburn, Bama, and Arkansas

People went from calling Burrow “Danny Etling” to calling him Heisman

I certainly don't recall anyone comparing Burrow to Etling, but if some dumbass did it is not a reflection of the fan base.

I remember Burrow improved tremendously as the season went on. I remember at the end of the 2018 season some national writers saying lookout for LSU and Burrow to be in the heisman conversation.

So I don't know what the hell you are talking about.

Ensminger was the OC in 19. Brady brought some concepts, but Ensminger also showed him how it's done.

By who? Les Miles? Or the two times by O? If Les, then he was fighting with Les' offensive ways. If you are referring to O it's because he seemed content to position coach and eventually retire. He really seemed like he wanted to retire.

And what about his promotions? And leading LSU to the greatest offense ever? You really want to be one of the dumbasses who credit it all to Brady?

You using a progression of one year as a negative?

quote:

Ensminger has surpassed O as the ultimate “but he’s one of us!!!”

This right here just shows you have some sort of agenda and can't be taken seriously. I don't agree with the one of us bias, but Ensminger deserves far more credit than he gets. Yet he does not care one bit for it. He's a better man than you'll ever be. Sorry the idea of Ensminger getting more recognition hurts your feelings. All the OP said was he was underappreciated. You are just looking to stir up stuff within the fan base as usual. You actually could be respectable if you wouldn't resort to this stuff.

It was time for another new OC, but O hired one that was worse because Peetz calls things that work against his QB too often.

Ensminger was super-conservative too at times and called the same play on consecutive plays without having success numerous times, but he seemed to be good with doing things that worked for his QBs while bringing them along. And yes, he did a good job with Max and the LSU offense in those last two games last year. Ensminger would also would go through stretches where he would call a good game.

The fact ensminger couldn’t score a point vs bama with burrow and company speaks volumes. Brady’s system and play calling along with receiver sub rotations were amazing. Ensminger was along for the ride in 19

100% he is a team player and given a year outside of covid with the talent we’ve got on this team, he and Callaway could’ve been a dynamic duo. They built solid relationships with the QBs who wanted to play for them. Sad how they let the new guys burn down the ship.

Imagine making joe burrow a 57% passer & only generating 16TD passes in 13g. Lol. Complete trash

The play calling at the end of that A&M overtime game was worse than anything we’ve seen this season

What do you disagree with

The offense changed completely

The players they played changed completely

The substitutions the made were completely different

Joe Brady was indeed that dude

Shoulda just dumped Linehan and hired another passing game coordinator and not been infatuated with having a second person to call third down plays.

This is the thing I'll never understand:

2018 - we had an experienced OC in Ensminger who realized his offense was a little stale, so he talked O into bringing in a young assistant coordinator (call it what it is) with an understanding of modern offenses to inject some life.

2019 - Enter Joe Brady who worked great with Ensminger because they had complementary strengths and weaknesses. Greatest offense ever/National Champs. Exit Joe Brady.

2020 - O replaces Brady with someone more like Ensminger. Linehan and Ensminger have the same strengths and weaknesses. Shitstorm of a season. Exit Ensminger and Linehan.

2021 - O brings in 2 guys that are more like Joe Brady...not as talented, but from that young, aggressive mold with no experience running an offense. Same weaknesses. Even a bigger offensive shitstorm than 2020.

Didn't O realize that what made 2019 offense great (other than incredible players) was the differences between Ensminger and Brady and the way they covered each other's weaknesses.

Coach Ensminger was a very good play caller. There was a level of trust with those players that isn't there with Peetz...It's obvious with the frustration exhibited by the players. I question the autonomy he had when Burrow was a junior...if Coach Orgeron is telling the coordinators, philosophically, what to do, I would surmise that he told Ensminger, philosophically, what to do. Also, recall that Burrow had very little prep time his junior year...Finally, the 2019 season was insane just for the amount of talent on that offense...8 of the 11 starters/subs are playing on Sunday...that is insane!

Ensminger was an average OC, but at least he was competent. Peetz is a total moron.

He was and is still very unappreciated . The media still incorrectly says Joe Brady was the offensive coordinator in 2019. Last year, our offense wasn’t the problem, it was the horrible defense.

Every offensive skill player made pretty big strides year over year. That improvement wasn't simply just a new play caller.

Coach E was a no count OC. He ran a Les Miles offense for Miles and O. Brady made all the changes, it was Brady only.

joe brady can suck donkey kongs

E called every single play in 2019 and should have won the broyles award, but i can promise you he could care less about praise and awards he cares about relationships
