Clearly this program is trending downward. A lot of flash at times but no dash!
Beth was outcoached and her team was not as prepared as ULL's. Hitting is so inconsistent.
Yes, even though I'm sure Beth is a fine person...she is not the coach that will bring LSU to new success.

This is what I’m thinking too.

Yep, the biggest factors in his legacy at LSU are football, baseball, men’s bball. The other sports are foot notes that we want to be good.
Right now his basketball make is not good with firing wade and having Matt McLoser produce a JJ like season with a monster contract and buy out.
I’d like him to make a move in softball but it is what it is.

Tough call for Woody. Fire the coach who gets a regional 10 seed? I get it, but the coach you want to hire might be thinking.. Hmmm... Now, she has been here for 12 seasons.

I would include WBB, as it, and KIM, are already is part of his legacy.

It would be unlike him to put up with mediocrity for too long. Ask Coach O.
Coach O's last two seasons were not mediocre, they were awful. Worst two seasons since Dinardo.
A better comparison would have been Fargas and even then Torina's last 6 seasons have been stellar compared to Nikki.

Torina’s net worth has to be close to 3 or 4 million by now ? She’s making about 470k per year. Why should she care ?
I’ll coach softball for $150k per year.
I don't think your coaching would help very much, especially since you don't understand how net worth is calculated.

On the other hand I'm in awe at how stubborn she's been choosing mediocrity over doing what's best for the school that has lined her pockets.
Can you please explain the "choosing mediocrity" part? Are you referring to coaches? Players? Please elaborate. Thanks.

And ULL will be celebrating because they got Torina fired. They're drinking much "Hold my beer" today in Laffeyette today.

When you have the top pitcher and overall player committed it's hard to pull the plug but I get it if Scott does. The program has been on a downward trajectory. I still think Beth is a good coach but still all I hear is how loyal she is to her coaches. if Scott makes the move and its not a big fish then we mine as well keep Beth

Who are y’all referring to here? Just curious.

You can’t let recruiting hold you at gun point. If you do that then O is never fired.
It’s honestly likely a talk with Beth telling her at least one if not both assistants need to go, we will open the checkbook for new ones. If she says no you draw the line of ok, make okc then.

Lol who cares? Softball is the only sport in which they are competitive on a national level. Let them enjoy their highlight of the athletic year. They’re a softball school for goodness sake

Personally, I think she has done a very good job at LSU.She needs to adjust her approach to the game. We have too many slap hitters in the lineup. The game has changed, and it is time to recruit players that take full swings at the plate.

I don’t blame them. ULL probably deserved to host. And if not, you can send McNeese to Seattle but you can’t ever send ULL anywhere but 50 miles east?

We are talking about softball here.
We could be a perennial power, and the national college athletics landscape would barely notice.
Anything associated with this program is low on the radar of the athletics director.

Like one of the previous posts... what are ya'll referring to when you talk about the extended family? I admittedly don't do a whole lot more than score check the softball team.

Talking about Dobson and Leftwich, they are like family to Beth and have been with her since she came to LSU.
Not actual family but relationship is very close
Torina is very nice by nature. Firing or moving on from her close friends is something she hasn’t been able to do despite the continued downslope of the program

Beth, nice try, you've had 12 years, you had chances to get the right assistants.
