So glad I didn’t pay the money to travel to that game.

In spite of Les refusing to change, it was a great trip. I flew into Chicago, scoped out the Cubs, stayed in Milwaukee when Harley Davidson was hosting some festival, and thoroughly enjoyed the Museum at Lambeau.

21-0..... one of the worst coaching jobs I have ever seen. The dude tried nothing different..... the defense for LSU played awesome that night if you think about the field position was able to work with. The offense was just terrible. Play calling wise. But I did have a thought after the first half of the SECCG when LSU had like ZERO first downs and yet somehow we won 42-10. This team had SOOOOO much talent that should have beaten Bama again. He failed as a coach right there.

Bob Barton and Vicki Crochet, LSU's counsel, had already told Alleva that LSU could not fire Miles for cause.

I get to say it too. I wasn't there but I get to say I was. It's great, I do it for a lot of games at which I was not.

I was in agreement with your basic premise until you gave these 2 examples. How about just the overall refusal to modernize an offense? Just fire him because he was a coach just not doing his job.
But to use 2005 Tenn? After Katrina with a team physically, emotionally and mentally toasted. That game the whole program gets a solid pass for. My gosh.
And 2013? We threw the ball all over the field.
Pick any number of a hundred other reasons and I’m with you.

I understand and respect your point. However, In regards to 2005. Miles on the field coaching blew that game. If the team was spent from all the goings-on with Katrina, we would not have been up 21-0 at the half. Also, we would not have won every other game until the SEC championship. NO! Tenn. was on-field coaching.

I will use the 2013 Bama game for the next point. We had an NFL QB and 2 ALL PRO WR's. Even though Zach threw for a 70% completion rate we only threw the ball 23 times. Jeremy Hill was a freaking stud but only had 42 yards. I will quote the WV coach when we played in 2011 "When you get into the game you have to call the plays that work". He said that in regards to being balanced against LSU's defense. Miles was too dumb to figure that out.

Miles wasted more talent than any coach I have followed at LSU. I went to school with Ruffin Rodrigue and he sold me on LSU in JR High. I have been a fan since. That was the early 80's.

Joe Alleva is still a spineless dickweed. Don’t let the “journalist” from the Advocate tell you differently.

It was a rough day. RVd this one and tailgating was fabulous - great fans from both sides. Our RV was like 40 yards from the gameday setup, so that was perfect. Don’t even have to say it but from the first possession on, it was miserable (almost painful) to watch. Driving back with fake smiles at every stop.

Those people deserved to be spit on (metaphorically speaking). Les should have been gone after the 2015 collapse. He was never going to change. “The engine is still pretty good.”

I think we finally have the reason Miles called the Wisconsin game at Lambeau the way he did and Fournette's frustration in that game. It was a big FU to Alleva.
Dumb things I read on the rant today.

So Fournette's frustration was entirely due to Mile's friction with Alleva and had nothing to do with his ankle sprain...

Got it!!!

This is a good comparison. Both somehow made it to the highest level in spite of themselves.

So he threw a game to send a message to the AD for something that happened 3 years prior. Solid post OP

Yeah, the OP's post might make sense if there wasn't a 3 year gap in between events.

Now, if you want to say it was an FU to Alleva because of what happened the season before then MAYBE I could listen to that argument. But there wasn't just a "recommendation" that LSU fire Miles after the 2015 season. Alleva actually TRIED to do so. His team carried him off the field in the final game of 2015 for Godsakes. By that time whatever 2013 email/recommendation that was out there was meaningless. He already knew he was on thin ice going into 2016 so I doubt he would try to "throw" the opening game.

That game vs. Wisconsin was nothing more than one of the final acts of hubris and stubbornness from Miles that eventually ended his LSU career. As he did from every point on following 2008 (except 2013 when he knew his defense sucked) he figured if he had great talent (he did) and had a great defense (he did) then he could do "just enough" offensively while being almost totally risk averse to win the game. He almost won the Wisconsin game. Then almost won the Auburn game. Get at least one of those wins and Les might have remained the HC. Unfortunately, his days of doing just enough to satisfy LSU fans finally came to an end in 2016.

It wasn't an FU to Alleva. It was a stubborn fool REFUSING to accept that he needed to evolve to take the program up to the last rung of the championship ladder.

Biden mumbling incoherently... more so than your savior Trump? Really? Why can't you frickboys(if your a Republican
or trump supporter, that's your biz, I'm talking about bringing
politics here) just leave politics off this board. Rarely do I see people just somehow try to turn football news into shittalking Trump...and I'm an independent, not a Democrat, I HATE the woke movement, hate the SJWs but THIS AINT THE PLACE, STFU with that BS,take that shite to poli, even the admins have said it, but some just can't help themselves bc they're "team" lost, but have the nerve to call others snowflakes....I'm open for biz 24/7. Get at me

I went to the Wisconsin game. Everything was great about the trip EXCEPT the game which was very disappointing to say the least. Miles should have been fired after the game. He let all Tiger fans down especially the thousands who made that trip.
