I think there’s only 2 things Lane can do to make everyone happy about this season

1.) Run the table and finish 10-2 with a playoff berth.
OR
2.) finish 9-3 or 8-4, but with a victory over Alabama
If we don’t accomplish either of those 2 things, then I’m afraid many people in the fanbase will be disappointed.
The Year 1 expectations might be unrealistic, but it is what it is. He’ll just have to deal with that and handle it as best he can.

Who really cares if we’re happy about this season if it’s the beginning of 5 years that trend upward? That may not happen, but isn’t what we all assumed would happen?

I’m with you, but we have a lot of unreasonable crazies in the fanbase who will meltdown about everything.

Lane is fine. Our offense is miles better than BK’s bullshite.
I’ll wait and see what Lane can do with a real DC. Should have a lot of great options this offseason, I’d imagine a lot of guys would love that position

Not Losing a game in October was important....and that ship has sailed.
So, 6 SEC straight games.....4-2 would be competitive, that leaves 8-4, no playoffs.....that is unacceptable to me for a 46 million dollar roster, not to mention the coordinators pay....
Having said that, I will be pulling for my Tigers no matter what!

Na, we need to support our guy no matter what bro. Let the man cook. He cant do it in 1 or 2 years. I rather build and set it for success year in and year out. We good, they gotta keep working. Regardless of all the mistakes we made in both games, we were close to being 6-0. Give it time. We are really close. Give it time

I had us losing to Mississippi, but not Kentucky. He should have been able to get to the Alabama 7-1. Then a 2-2 finish with losses to likely Alabama and Texas would have been acceptable. I feel he needs to now get to Alabama 6-2 and pull an upset off. This is no longer wait until year three...he has more talent than most teams - UK included. I do blame Baker more than Lane, but that was still, to me, an unbelievably pussy call to punt on 4th and inches.

Give him a chance to get the guys that fit his system. If you think this was going to happen in ONE year you are embarrassing yourself.
This was the second tough loss. Both those games we were outmuscled in the trench.

I don't think even Saban could've gotten better than 9-3 with this roster. There's a reason why Kiffin had been conservative on offense and Baker has been conservative on defense. Yall really don't know how bad our roster was last year. Sure we got key positions from the portal but there are glaring holes on this team without all the injuries factored in.

The problem is that the "many people" you referred to are many of the big big donors that trusted LK could produce a strong winner if he had enough funds. If he can't salvage this season with those people still believing in LK, then you and I know where the program will go in this arena where big money and good coaching wins. He had better change Baker's mind set quickly and win at least probably 9 games, or 8 beating Bama or ............
