QB position not there, and some huge question marks at RB. I mean, that's a big deal.

Brennan and Narcisse are arguably the most talented QBs LSU has recruited (that doesnt count mett) since Jamarcus or Perriloux.

RB is a big question mark, but they have a really really good OL to run behind.

And oh yeah, the defense isn't half bad. The offense is not going to be asked to do a whole lot if the defense simply does what it did this year only giving up 18 points a game.

O gave Malzahn a Loss and would have pounded Fisher at FSU this year. We get to see him vs Richt first game next year and against Jimbo vs A&M. And he played Bama/Saban as tough as anyone the past 2 years. He is doing fine, and he showed me a lot what he did to right the ship after Troy. He interfered then learned from his mistakes

so then LSU should go at least 9-3? since O is doing fine , there is no excuse for not meeting his own standard.

He has a chance to go 10-3 in his 1st year...... instead of blaming and bashing O why don't you do that to Alleva.....

It’s really pretty amazing how some
Are trying to change the approach to LSU football. For a number of years now, any loss to Bama was seen as a total failure on the part of the players, staff, and team. Now, playing a game in which Bama maintained a 11 to 14 point lead and taking a knee, is seen as playing Bama tough Or some kind of morale victory.

Continued losses to Bama suck no matter how close the score might be, if we have a greater TOP, or even if we gain more yds . It’s simply sucks and I don’t care who the coach is, who the QB is, or what O we run but we have to beat Bama.

Georgia has a true freshman at QB and obviously that didn't workout. Oh wait.

Clemson has an inexperienced QB and obviously that didn't work out. Oh wait.

Alabama is starting a sophomore and that hasn't worked out. Oh wait.

Oklahoma has a former walk on for two schools. Oh wait.

Well, he's the Head Coach, so I will certainly "blame" him for the bad, just as I have "praised" him for the good. I don't know what you mean by "bashing".

I certainly do blame Alleva. Horrible search by him. I don't know what more you would want.

OP by lsutiger2: You could argue being a head coach at an elite program like LSU is completely different than like a program Ole Miss. Throw in the fact interim coach is also not the same as head coach ....Im kinda excited about next year.

In reality, any criticism aimed at "O' is really just scrutiny of Alleva's hire of O and his documented history of cronyism, scandals, and bad hires at Duke/LSU. Afterall he got the AD Duke job because he was racquetball partners with Mike Krzyzewski.

What has he learned?
Why are you excited for next year?

If he could not win with a 48th ranked SOS and a 5th yr QB what will he do with a Top 5 SOS vs all these new SEC Coaches that are Saban Diaspora?
And we just lost Austin Thomas: General Manager, Director of Player Personnel, Position Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, Associate Athletic Director, Assistant to the Head Coach, Graduate Assistant and more.

What has this "unqualified Ole Miss Interim" learned other than if you are cronies with Alleva and harp on Miles being washed up you can parlay that into a 5 yr guaranteed Lottery Ticket with an old Ole Miss Binder?

By your own statement you have underscored how Alleva devalued LSU because No Competent AD Hires An Ole Miss Interim with a 3-21 record. Alleva hired a DL coach no one was even talking to, and then spent the better part of $4 million per year on coordinators in an attempt to mask the deficiencies of the head coach.

O made the Worst Coaching Hires Top 20 List for the past 65 yrs Twice in past 10 yrs.

He is not the Visionary Offensive Minded Coach we were promised to replace Miles.

Have you ever considered that every Elite Coach has to start over every year with a different team? Eg, Saban, Swinney, Herman, Kiffin: Kiffin won at ALA and FAU with 4 different, totally different QBs. Herman won with 3 different QBs in the same year, Cardale Jones making his 2nd start against ALA, then he took a 5'9" 180 lb QB and beat 2 Top 10 teams with a Hou Roster ranked 74th. Swinney replaced Watson with Bryant. Good Coaches are consistent year-to-year and are not 'going to win sometime in the future'.

After 16 seasons under the leadership of first, Nick Saban and then Les Miles LSU briefly returned to national prominence. LSU may have given all of that back with the hiring of Orgeron. His top qualifications for the job seem to have been he was interested, he was available and he’s from Louisiana."

LSU faced a Top 5 SOS in 2015 and Miles landed the #2 Recruiting Class for 2016 (why he was retained).

2017 was an historically low 42 SOS, + or - depending what service calculated it and whether you take into account SORecord and SOResume.

Next year is going to be an SOS equal to 2011 and that is going to test Alleva's/Orgeron's survival skills.

So don't worry with an Offense ranked 71st this year vs Miles' 43rd in 2015 (without the cupcake McNeese game)...
what could possibly go wrong?

Hope he learns that fricking people will get his arse run. He should have a full time AD type position instead of one of the other BS jobs. We fire that fat arse Derrick.

Next year is the year we have to see a step forward. Spare the new QB excuses. Well have an experienced OL and a beastly defense and our toughest games in BR. Now is the time to win the west. We will always have to replace players and will almost always have a brutal schedule.

won't matter with some of these asshats. O could run the table and they wouldn't be satisfied.

this is stupid. If he wouldn't have shite the bed earlier this year there would be no reason for anyone to say a negative remark about him. But he had two historic losses to start the year.

Coach O's big test is next season. Offense getting an overhaul, schedule is going to be ridiculous. If he goes 9-3 again, it would be considered an improvement, in all honesty.
