Orgeron is responsible for making the decisions with recruiting last year and missing on the RB that went to FSU. And not getting Etienne. Did he learn a lot about recruiting too? How is this year's class looking?

You know people dont talk about this a lot with Coach O but he is a fairly young coach when it comes to head coaching experience. He had his one stint at Ole Miss which of course everybody knows but that was only 3 years.3 years as a head coach is not a lot of experience. You could argue being a head coach at an elite program like LSU is completely different than like a program Ole Miss. Throw in the fact interim coach is also not the same as head coach . Coach O met some adversity this year, adapted, and has GROWN as a coach.

What you smoking Baw? You actually think next year with a new QB, and newly acquired depth on both lines of scrimmage, and no experience at running backs we got us a team ready to go to Atlanta? You think all we missing is a coach not named Orgeron, and now we got a championship team?

2019 looks to be our year, as long as Orgeron continues to fill the needs of this team left empty by Miles

Here come the excuses already.

In 2019 the excuse will be that Canada's gone and we need another year to install the new offense.

And the O sycophants criticize some of us for saying that Ponamsky pays posters on here. shite like the OP is not heartfelt analysis. It’s fricking O hagiography.

They’ll be submitting fricking supposed O miracles to the pope soon.

yall are not getting it. Alleva didnt hire O because he knew or wanted him to learn on the job. He hired O because of his potential of being a very good head football coach. I am starting to see it. Finding the next great coach is not a perfect science. Ask yourself this. How many great coaches are out there? Compared to the standard you have LSU at?

And to people saying he shouldn't be learning at his age are incorrect. Its about EXPERIENCE. Youre learning new things everyday in life with new experiences. Dont care if you're 18 or 50. If 18 year old has done something the 50 year old hasnt, most likely the 18 year old will be better at it because he has experienced it.

Coach O's big test is next season. Offense getting an overhaul, schedule is going to be ridiculous. If he goes 9-3 again, it would be considered an improvement, in all honesty.

Just spit balling here, but for $3-4 million/yr do you think we might have considered a full grown HC?

So why wouldn't he start with a hire that at least had a winning career record?

What about Orgeron screams "next great head coach?"

We are all so thoroughly impressed with your vocabulary.

I guess there are only so many ways for you to post the same crap over and over. Once you have worn out your thesaurus, you can just go back to saying that O is terrible and you will never support him. We will continue to laugh at you just the same.

I’m impressed you know the word “vocabulary “ to be honest. I bet you do laugh at me.

You strike me as one of those not too smart southerners who laughs at “book learnin”. That’s why you’re such an O sycophant. Nothing about your support of him is reasonable. It’s just that it givs you a chance to have a mastabotory session to stroke your good ole boy credentials.

We'll see, but, again, the so-called process used to hire resulted in a position coach becoming the HC. This does not inspire confidence by any means. If Austin Thomas leaves that is probably another gaffe by Alleva. Process is important. Why do you think Saban has been such a success. Same with Belichick.

It comes down to having a vision and focusing on it and doing what it takes to make it happen. This is not LSU's philosophy from what I can tell.

This bag of shite impressed you by playing in the Texas Bowl against Mizzou?
Texas wasn't in good shape when Herman took over. This year was meh, so next year Herman needs to make real progress. But you have to look deeper than just wins and losses.

Maryland and Texas Tech were bad losses, and TCU beat them handily, but they played other good teams close:

Lost to USC in OT on the road.
Lost to Oklahoma by 5.
Lost to Okla State by 3.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda --- but Texas was better than their record indicates.

Coach Orgeron has been given an incredible opportunity. He has 2 more years to show progressive improvement in the quality of the product that he fields.

Absent that, it's a business decision, unclouded by emotion or notions of loyalty.

If a quality hire is available and accessible at the end of year 3 and we have only managed to muddle through under Orgeron, then he is gone.

If a viable alternative does not present, then you extend with a nominal buyout until things change, one way or the other.

The standard for progressive improvement, going forward, in my view, must be winning the west and earning a trip to Atlanta. Period.

Orgeron, like the rest of his peers, is forever on the clock. Just the nature of the beast. People need to stop clinging to him, or any other person we hire.

They don't matter: LSU does.

You must not have heard. Les Miles left LSU in worse shape than Hitler left the Germans. It was a miracle LSU won 9 games against the gauntlet of a schedule and it will take Corch Eaux 3 years to turn it around. LSU will be back in 2021!!
