Meh. Secondary looked fine without him. I don’t think he’ll be missed.

Tell Ricks, just for me, to haul his butt outta here. We can replace him faster than he can drive to Bama.

If you were able to see all this after talking with him, it appears that Rick's isn't especially bright if he's willing to buy into what they're selling.

How long before Orgeron becomes an NIL agent?

No one deserves anything. If his name were valuable, he would have a return. Apparently it's not

Hypothetically, Ricks being on a team for 1 year may be worth 100k. His NIL value likely isn’t worth that.

He is selling the one thing he has that’s valuable. And, a guy willing to do that will 100% make a business decision during the middle of the year to “opt out” to prep for the draft.

I wonder if/how LSU can get some guys like these on our “under the table” pay roll. Quite honestly, if I were LSU, I’d prob try to monetarily incentivize companies within the state to create new, constant, and high paying NIL deals. It’s a matter of time before this occurs anyway, might as well be ahead of the curve. Would be a great recruiting and retention tool.

Everybody wants to brag about Huey P, especially in the same breath as LSU so might as well do what the Kingfish would have.
Marketing firm(s). Let them play middle men. They pay to have the rights for the players, business hire the firm(s) at an upcharge to use those same players.

I.e., the players NIL becomes a retail, not wholesale, commodity. Just like you don't buy your Snickers direct from Mars or your Natty Light direct from Busch in St. Louis.

The benefit of this is two fold:
1. Adds a layer of protection for the school's involvement known as plausible deniability.

2. If you hire the marketing firm for other things, big or small, you can overpay there to make sure you are getting to as many players/recruits as possible.

As for the people who say you can't make it work because those firms or businesses want a return on their investment...
- yeah, and labor unions are ONLY for better working conditions, the mob has nothing to do with it
- No one gives recruits impermissible benefits because it is against the rules
- all those BYU walk ons are damn sure worth it right?
- we're the government and we're here to help... we don't play favorites
- Journalists don't lie
- Wedding vows are binding

... Those business will be your bagmen. The marketing firms are the 501c3 who laundered it.

On that note: Non-Profits are/will be great for this. Think about it. You setup non-profit for climate change, DEI, David Duke Foundation, or whatever strikes your fancy no matter where your beliefs lie. You take "donations" from boosters. Foundation needs advertising praising the virtue of those donors, you hire the marketing firm who has the 3rd string players on retail.

He is one of the best lock down corners in the country, if he goes to Bama he will be a stud! Doesn’t matter where he goes he will be a stud.

How can you love your team you grew up with and want to play for a team you should hate? Zero passion that's how

I spoke with a few people close to him.

It’s definitely not a unanimous decision for him to do this. Some in his camp want him to stay at LSU.

I have the names of the guys from someone in his camp, who are questioning the decision. I made my own proclamations about the guys being scumbags based on the info I was told. They are.
