Not true. You have to be an idiot to get caught smoking weed as a college football player. I think we just have a bunch of idiots on the team and teams in the past

Nah bullshite. This has been known for years that LSU has a strict compliance department. It actually started like this under Myles. And actually I think it became like this because of Honey Badger. He failed enough test that it became clear when it got out to the public that something had to be done and as a result they went overboard with it. No other team suspends players like we do. And no they are not getting caught in the act, they are failing random test that we give them. And LSU test for an assortment of stuff. Including one of the only schools that uses the saliva test for Mojo

FFS. Are you morons still pushing this shite? What happened to “it will just magically disappear after November”?

This is why players at LSU are so desperate to leave ASAP, whether it’s opting out or leaving as soon as they are draft eligible and have even the slightest chance to get drafted.
I can believe that. I had some friends play for Dinardo and Saban. Dinardo wouldn’t let the kids wear extra wristbands or earrings, etc. Saban didn’t care. It sounds dumb, but that shite resonates with 19 year olds.

Bahnsen and his band of bureaucrats have long been a target of this board

Maybe the title ix shite can be used to leverage against those responsible for this and they can be the blood the sjw mob gets.

Yeah, I bet you Notre Dame and Wisconsin is allowing their players to smoke, rape, and pillage. There is a level of decency these young men should learn also. I will tell you there are parents that do look at these categories before they allow there children to attend school at a university.

ND hasn’t won anything meaningful since the early 90s. They have managed to back door into the cfp and a title game and they got exposed quickly.
Wisconsin isn’t a championship program either.
If you look at all the championship programs since 00 we easily have the toughest drug constraints currently.

A question, Tiger25. Don't you think that the players are made aware of how our football program operates when they are recruited? You can bet that they are. As a parent, I would want my son going to a program that had discipline. I might modify the marijuana policy given current mores. It troubles me that some of you seem to be saying to let our players party hard and do drugs as long as we can compete with the elites of college football. Would partying hard, drinking, drugging, etc. compromise the performance and grades of some of our players. That answer is yes.

I’ve heard from quite a few “credible sources” that things like partying and drinking and weed and other stuff isn’t nearly as closely monitored at certain other schools like it is at LSU.
Just how many players have lost significant playing time over the last 5 years? If compliance and LSU’s school policies are too restrictive why has the AD and school administration addressed it? LSU is a major revenue engine for the University.
I think these are excuses. Players leave against their own interest because of weed? BS. By now, LSU has the data that demonstrates declaring early is disadvantageous for most who leave early.

What are your friends names?

You are missing the point. Do you think LSU isn’t negatively recruited by their academic standards? I mean yeah LSU does a great job recruiting the skill positions but we are all complaining about the offensive lineman position and until just recently the QB position. We recruit the Houston and Dallas areas very hard and either of those positions with educated parents are going to choose A&M or Notre Dame over LSU due to an image standpoint. I love LSU but the overall academic reputation is not there. I have zero issue with young men being suspended due to not following a set of rules. It is a life lesson and if you think it is ok for them to sexually abuse anyone then your priorities are out of line.

What happens if the football team just...says no to the compliance department? If it’s not NCAA enforced what would happen? Is the president or AD going to chose the compliance department over the football program when no one is forcing them to?
NCAA or SEC would get involved. The rule is you set the standard for these things but you have to follow them as they are set or you will be punished.
As far as Woodward changing it are we positive that the AD has control over the compliance department to make the changes? That seems like it would be a different entity under the President of the University to keep the athletic department in check.

Get outta here with that bullshite

that would be a violation.
the NCAA mandates that you must have a drug program (testing, etc) run by your compliance department. And that you must follow that program.
they just don’t dictate what the specifics of your drug enforcement program must be.

That’s all within the last 2 years. It’s hard to know 100% because LSU doesn’t explicitly state suspensions and the reason why.

I still can’t believe we suspended the honey badger for smoking weed or the fake weed stuff. Especially when we had kids raping girls and beating up their girlfriends still on the team.

I’ll just be transparent. My credible sources are 3 former players that have played on the team since 2016. None of these ever got in trouble, but they had friends on the team that they got close to who did get in trouble. That’s all I will say.
What was that you said this weekend about not wanting lots of attention for having “sources.” This thread disagrees.
