I remember the misery of Les. But O, Joe and Joe have helped me forget the pain.

Undefeated regular season
1 12-win season
3 11-win season
2 10-win seasons
2 national championship games
3 SEC championship games

jumping to the farthest extreme is a terrible argument. No one is saying Les is like Curley. And yes, we all know Les had success.

But Les also wasted a TON of elite talent and chances for additional championships. It's ok to like Les, and still acknowledge this fact.

Calling it misery is jumping to the extreme. I merely posted his accomplishments.

I still have some PTSD. Joe scrambles out of the pocket and lets one go, I sometimes have panic inside.

Then I realize he is throwing to someone on our team and I get over it.

misery of Les

Wut? Miles had a very successful decade and won a national championship. His stubbornness cost him his job in the end but come on...misery? Those last few years were nothing near misery. Y'all are in for a tough time if (when) LSU falls on actual tough times and misses bowl games with a few losing records.

You think that was the intent of the OP?

I don't miss most of Les's offenses but he did very well at LSU. The whole Perrilloux fiasco coupled with Saban to Alabama started a downward spiral for Les's tenure at LSU.

If Saban go to the Gumps we're probably discussing a Les statue. Heck, if Perrilloux learns self control, or Kragthorpe doesn't develop Parkinson, we may have had different results.

But all that stuff led to Joe Burrow and I wouldn't trade that for anything.

So 1 season vs 11? Why not just cherry pick Les' best seasons? Just throw out the not so great ones since you are doing that with every other coach.

And if O doesn't win the sec next year, does he suck again? Will it be miserable to be an LSU fan?

The misery was worse with Les, because we knew his potential and the simple thing he had to change (Offense) we could have won multiple rings with him. Les would probably still be here if his offense wasn’t as old as him.

It wasn't misery so much as never-ending frustration of what could be if he would get out of his own way. Now we're seeing it.

Those were factors but, in the end, it was Les’ inability or willingness to change. The game changed. It effected recruiting. Les’ roster management also took a downturn in later years.
The lack of offense dulled his success. It left people wanting more and frustrated.

Not understanding the need to bash Les. It’s almost like you people think there is some type of balance that must occur; “in order for us to be happy now we must recount the mistakes of the past.”

Les was beloved - BELOVED - until his last 3 years. Yes, his stubbornness did him in, BUT... I will never forget the way he talked about LSU, his unforgettable press conferences, his “have a good day” speech, his trick plays, and sheer belief that his team was simply tougher than any other. The Mad Hatter. The Ar-Kansas speech. I loved every minute of the Lea era minus his very last season.

LET IT FRIGGIN’ GO ALREADY. Some of you have the Les Miles version of Donald Trump Syndrome. LMS. My hunch it’s probably the same people with TDS that have LMS. Pussies sounding like teenage girls.
