I really believe we hear from the vocal minority on the O matter

I believe that most of the posters on here bitching about O are of two categories:
1. Too young to remember the bad LSU days (I am included here)
2. Spoiled and think they deserve championships because this is LSU
I think most of the guys and girls on here who don't post all that much or solely lurk understand what is going on. I am not a supporter of O at all. In fact I thought the coaching search was abysmal and we made a shitty hire. However, that doesn't change the fact that right now O is the guy and it's his 2nd year. These things take time, regardless of the coach. I don't think O will be here too much longer, but there are some things he has done well.
1st off let's get this notion that we are supposed to be a perennial power out of our head. Those that truly believe this are deluded. NOBODY is always good. Not Bama, not Michigan, Not Ohio State, or any other blue blood program, and newsflash; LSU isn't a blue blood. It's on the fringe, sure, but no more of a blue blood than Penn State or Clemson. We have in state talent, and a whole lot of it. But we can't get every guy, and bashing recruiting classes that are top 15 does no good for anybody. The players ABSOLUTELY DO read this site. I'm not saying they take everything here seriously, but they sure as hell read it.. Be glad about the incoming talent, and know that a top 15 class isn't a swing and a miss. It's very good.
O has beefed up the lines and given us depth that we haven't had since 2011. Yeah some of them are just bodies but everyone bitching about that aspect really doesn't understand that those "bodies" can be what gives you a win in the 4th quarter when the other team's offensive tackles are huffing and puffing.
Alleva and O retained Aranda. Don't give a frick by what metric, Aranda is here and one of the best coordinators in the nation.
O had a hell of a comeback last year after a loss that would have thrown any other team into an absolute spiral. He shouldn't have lost in the first place, but the fact is he did lose, and instead of throwing in the towel he got this team up and ready to play. Don't give me that duke riley shite. Sure he came in and got them ready but if the blame falls on the HC then so does the glory.
The fact of the matter is we have what we have and nothing any of you say or do is going to change any of it unless you have ties with boosters or are currently a booster. Bitch and complain all you want, but know at the end of the day you're being entitled and college football does not revolve around LSU. If you TRULY feel disgusted with the program hop off the bandwagon. You aren't the first nor the last.
We are in a better position than a lot of teams and I feel like we are going to surprise a ton of people just based on trench depth. We always have playmakers at the skill positions, and if Brennan can be halfway decent I think we go 2 out 4 of against Bama/UGA/Aub/Miami (No we aren't winning them all, lose that thought right now or you are gonna be pissed off).

I’m 55. I remember the bad days. And I don’t think we deserve shite. I think we will get exactly what we deserve. If we are losers, and accept 9-4, we’ll get that, or less. If we refuse to tolerate that we’ll eventually get better.

I lived through the 90’s and the last guy was fired because he wasn’t competing for championships.
What else you got?

No, obviously you didn't pay attention.
We fired the last guy because his philosophy was rooted in the 70s and he refused to adapt when it mattered. If we showed a breath of life on offense in big games it would have been a completely different story.
Other than that you're just flat out not paying attention.

I have already said I am not an Orgeron "fan". I however will always lean to being positive towards the program, HC included. I didn't want him as HC, but he is here and I am rooting for him to do well.
As far as people blaming Aranda, that's idiotic. He isn't perfect, but he is extremely god and as good as you can currently get at the DC position in CFB.

Nice edit. You said winning, not competing. Don't change your wording now because you're upset somebody proved you wrong.

Gonna be really tough to get 9 this year. We may lose to Canes and Auburn. Not having a proven back may rear it’s head. Obviously I hope not

This is O propaganda BS to excuse the fact that he lost more than 3 games
Miles was fired because he wasn’t winning enough. And in the end that’s all that masters.
Not the offense was the cause of the issues of Ws and Ls but I think if we came out spreading the field and running an air raid it wouldn’t have mattered if we had the same records in those years.

If we can start 3-0 anything is possible at that point. Won't be easy though.

This is just wrong. Yes, his offense may have caused him to lose games...but he was fired because he lost the games, not because of certain stats or philosophies. Had he continued to win at the clip he did earlier in the decade he would still be here, no matter what offensive style was being used.

So you are saying LSU isnt worthy of hiring someone with a track record of success because we sucked before the 2000s. Cool bro. Great story

The only edit was the formatting.

Agreed. It's about the trajectory of the program. Style doesn't matter as much as record obviously.

Does that mean we just stop trying? The thing that makes Bama Bama and Ohio State Ohio State and Michigan Michigan is that they don’t accept mediocrity. Even if we are to accept your premise that those schools are “blue blood” and LSU isn’t, that doesn’t mean LSU has to accept mediocrity. Everyone understands there will be rough years, but that doesn’t mean we start accepting those rough years as the new normal.
The fact that some fans are willing to accept mediocrity is frightening.

O sucks! LSU is screwed! Dumpster fire

I'm 48 and I remember the bad times. The thing I learned from that is it's easier than most think to slip that far and it's very difficult to dig your way out again. THAT is what the Orgeron fans are taking for granted right now, I.e. that we can afford to experiment because it won't hurt too much to correct later.
But I also learned that LSU is capable of great things in football as is Louisiana. However, it takes the right people to do it. There's no shortcut to finding them either. We tried that in the 90's. Ties to LSU, Louisiana, other legendary coaches, sentimental favorites, none of that is what's important.
So forget this crap about accusing people of being "entitled". That is just a narrative created by underachievers.
