I raise you Quinn Johnson

ETA: “ One of the best blocking fullbacks to ever play for LSU … Played in 40 games during LSU career, starting 10 times … Originally signed with the Tigers as a linebacker before making the switch to the offensive side of the ball for the 2006 season … Drafted in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers … Rated as the third-best fullback in the 2009 NFL Draft … Graduated in December of 2008 with a degree in general studies.”

There is a place for a fullback, but it won’t be a traditional style. Think #44 with the 49ers.

no one is using a FB anymore in college or pro game
the position is becoming extinct
the rules in the NFL all but eliminated it
it could still be effective in college but the college game is slowly becoming the mini NFL

I do not miss the FB-centric Les Miles pound-n-punt offense.

I do think there's a place for a short yardage jumbo package.

SUPER overrated.

But I agree, I miss a true fullback sometimes too. Quinn Johnson, Shawn Jordan, Steltz, Banks.

It's 2024, not 2012.

A shorter tight end will have to accommodate this role as an HBack/FB/TE and could have more touches if he learns the hybrid position.

But maybe now they are allowed 105 you may see two guys devoted to the position.

Connor neighbors
I’m pretty sure one year Les had like 5 fullbacks on the roster.

I'm just happy we have had some qbs lately.

The old thumpers were fun to watch though.

Steltz? He was a DB not a fullback. Unless there was another Steltz that I’m not aware of
