Wade’s only team to go 1 and done was the last one after he was fired.

I know the likelihood that WW returns here is realistically almost zero, but it's ok to be nostalgic over some of the good things he did and the passion he brought.
I became a no-questions-asked lifetime fan when went on that tirade about ULL after we beat them in the NIT.
"I'm just glad we won the game...I can only imagine our fans having to listen to that stuff"

frick off nerd most fans saw exactly what he brought and saw the potential. Most of the old head daddy dale lovers couldn’t get over the fact the wade and lsu were the most hated team in ncaa for large parts of the season and everyone else absolutely loved and thrived on it as we continued to win despite the crazy melts in the media and the fan base
Dude had lsu as the bad boys and a pg version of Detroit pistons every ref and announcer hated us lmfao kept finding a way to win

frick wade shouldn't have cheated. He'd still be here.

I remember when LSU fans didn’t bitch about an ex for years.

If he hadn’t cheated he wouldn’t have signed the players he did, and he’d have lost at about the same rate CMM is losing. Nice try!

Ride to the round of 32 every few years in March before swiftly exiting?
What a ride
What a ride

That GIF was from January 2015—Johnny Jones era, NCAA Tournament team that year.
Winning fills the PMAC. If MM were winning, we would have that again. WW consistently won, which builds a lot of fan momentum to carry through any lulls. McMahon does not.
The team did decent last year, not what we wanted but at least a positive trend, so I think this year started out getting decent crowds.
I do not have first-hand knowledge of this but I suspect that shortly after they began to consistently pass to the other team during SEC play, attendance plummeted.
And FTR, I am not part of the Wade Brigade nor am I a McMan (though I have been accused of that). I am simply an LSU Athletics fan. I always pull for the current coach to win because I pull for the team to win at all times.
It takes me a while to get to the point where I want a coach gone. I am about there with McMahon. However, since it appears he will be retained another year and I have no influence in the matter I will still pull for the team to win. If he wins big next year, awesome. If he can be consistent going forward, even more awesome.
If he falls on his face next season, he should be replaced. If he takes a step forward and then back again like he did the last two seasons, he should be replaced. Then I will take a minute to lament the time lost (I'm not getting any younger) then move forward and support whomever is hired.

I’ll never understand people that think this way.
If you’re tired of the lover’s lament over Will Wade, it doesn’t mean you love McMahon. But you knew that.
If more NIL money doesn’t lead to better results and McMahon is fired next year, there are a handful of coaches who can come here and win, not just one.
I suspect someone will read this and assume I’m all in on McMahon, and that’d be dense and stupid, but this topic tends to bring out the stupid.
