Same as last year, which we all saw unfold as the year went on. It's really been an enjoyable piece of the Brian Kelly regime and something he's demonstrated that he's willing to do.
If you're the best guy, you're going to find your way on the field sooner than later and it gives me a lof of hope for Nov/Dec. This team could be light years different by season end from where they were week 1 vs FSU.
-The offensive line is still shaking out, specifically the right side (Heard). Feels like we're eventually going to get him starting at RT and Jones at RG which I think will give us our best 5.
-RB rotation is starting to become clear (Diggs & Jackson) as to who should get the most carries.
-WR pecking order is becoming clear: MN, BT, and Hilton taking Lacys spot.
-LB room is improving (Weeks, HP moving to more natural spot)
-Our secondary (which I still think is our biggest liability) is improving.
-DE you're starting to see guys like Womack & Wiggins getting more plays. We don't seem to have any real dogs on the edge right now but the way they're shuffling guys, we could see one emerge sooner than later.
Kudos to the coaching staff, feels like they're doing a great job putting every unit in position to be as successful as possible and not sitting on their hands/afraid to make changes. Keep it up.

It took them 6 weeks to get to this point last year.
Excited to see them keep improving during SEC play

Agreed. And I think there's a little bit of a "chip on your shoulder" type effect happening.
We were (rightfully) cast aside after week 1, the guys in the locker room heard it too. Feels like they wanna take back the respect they feel they deserve as a legit contender.

I can’t wait to go in dry on Arky

And just wait until Maason Smith knocks the rust off and overcomes the ankle setback

I remember when they said we were having “locker room problems” a week ago. Didn’t look like that to me, these guys look pissed off after all the talk of the media

It makes me grow when I watch them grow

I'll take the Wait and See approach. Still too early to say we can compete with anybody worth a damn. State and Grambling are trash

Time to start hitting in camp. Can't take anymore L's game 1 from being soft.

Never understood why our own fans want to denigrate our teams accomplishments.
Miss state was 2-0 with a P5 win and we were playing with on the road and completely dominated on both sides of the ball from start to finish.
We didn’t stretch it out at the end with a few turnovers. It was domination of an SEC team on the road.
If you want to say “let’s see some consistency first” I’d get it but to try to write off that performance because “MSU is trash” I don’t get

I don’t understand why it takes so much time to get to this point
Seems like they experimented too much before FSU game

I agree about watching them grow I just hate to lose games during the process
It is to be expected with all the young guys playing early as Freshman

I agree. Also, people seem to be forgetting that a significant amount of the players that we beat on Saturday came into TS last year and gave us a helluva game for 3 quarters. Mississippi St has talent, Arnett just ruined their offensive scheme much like Ed O trying to run a 4-3 with 3-4 players.

With the number of freshman and transfers playing, you really dont know what you have until the games start. I much prefer figuring out what works now before getting into the meat of conference play instead of getting by with pure talent for a couple weeks then running into a buzzsaw.

My take is similar.
This was a complete rebuild from 18mo ago, we’re still doing that and figuring a lot of things out. CBK even said as much in August (about still being a year away).
Ideally they’re good to go week 1 but even seasoned deep rosters have week 1 hiccups/jitters. Is what it is.
I’m trying to focus on the positive, which is that this coaching staff has shown us it can improve this team as the year goes on. And we’re seeing it again this year.

Last year this excuse was present. Not as much this season.
LSU returned a complete starting line up offensively. If the staff wasn't sure of what they had on that side of the ball then that is on them. Defensively was a different story...and it showed. The most disappointing aspect was the decision to mitigate one of the best defenders (Perkins). I hate that it took a blowout loss to figure that out, but so be it.
Offensively, LSU didn't really do anything different against MSU. The plays and scheme were largely the same. It's just that Daniels executed at the highest level he has since he's been at LSU. He was the perfect mix of patient and aggressive. He took shots when he had the favorable matchups, but was also patient enough to wait for other receivers to come open rather than just tucking and running if the first option was taken away.
Defensively, LSU looked more instinctive. Of course, it helps when the opposing coaching staff has decided to force an offense on players that don't know how, and maybe can't, execute it.
The hope is that LSU can build off this performance. Remember, we saw the offense execute really, really well at Florida last season, only to then come out and struggle (at least initially against OM). No one can or should expect Daniels to repeat Saturday's performance. But if he can hit about 75% of it LSU should have a chance to win every game they play the rest of the way.
