I love Tom Petty too, but until I die Florida will “Always” circled.

In any sport. I’ll Never forget being in my dorm during the Dinardo days and knowing how much I wanted LSU to beat Florida each and every year. I was to a point that one win against Florida was a worth multiple losses to other teams but I didn’t care. Things have changed but my hate still runs deep for the Gators. Son of a Bitches are also a great school and good at everything so there is that too. Much respect to the school but I despise them and cringe whenever seeing their fans.
Those 90’s Florida teams with Spurrier have lived Rent free for over 25 years boys and girls. I have some serious PTSD it seems.
Won’t be changing anytime soon no matter the suck between two schools currently. I think the National public loves this game. Two traditional SEC powerhouses hammering each other for 3 hours what’s not to like right?
I hate the idea of losing this one annually.

These shark frickers are the absolute worst hosts in the SEC. 1998. Got our arse beat, humbly leaving the stadium, and there were three separate confrontations that could have turned into a fight. Da gata suck!

If you went to games during the Spurrier era, then beating Florida will always make you smile. I was in undergrad in 1993 and stayed the entire game. Always enjoy beating them, especially at BHG. 2004 is one of my favorites that I attended in person. Joe Addai in the 4th quarter couldn’t be stopped. Believe it or not, neither could Marcus Randal.

Favorite in person LSU over Florida game victory for me in Tiger Stadium is 2007 over 1997. Close but 07' gets the nod

Try growing up in the 90s in FL. Was torture with gator fans. Teachers used to talk shite, friends would TP my house, shite was rough in the spurrier years. But when we won in 97, oh man was that special. And we’ve had the upper hand since he left, and it’s been nice. There’s no better team to beat and no worse team to lose to for me. The game is personal. I hate Florida more than any other program by a mile.

Got to say, I’ve gone to many FL games at the swamp and have been absolutely obnoxious. Won some and lost some. Picked up a couple chicks after the games but never had any real confrontation. Bunch of pansies if you ask me.
I did despise Spurrier and circled them after the hurricane forfeit/fiasco.

3 National championships with 3 different coaches has cured me of that.
Now Florida is just another run of the mill SEC opponent.

I see where you’re coming from but honestly Texas will replace Florida very quickly as a major rival to LSU. It’s so natural.
Louisiana and Texas are neighbors. Historical programs in multiple sports. Much more fan interaction between UT and LSU fans than LSU and UF fans. After a few meetings it will feel like UT & LSU have been long time rivals when they actually haven’t.
The series has been fun in the last 15 or so meetings but due to geography it’s just not a big one. I mean honestly unless you live in Florida or near Florida do you even know many Real Florida fans?
