I know it was Sam Houston but has anyone else been really impressed with Noot?

I think he could be a key back of the bullpen arm or closer. The movement on his pitches are insane. Or am I overreacting?

Yes you're overreacting at this time

Haven't seen nearly enough out of him to draw any real conclusions. They are seemingly giving him very small stints so far.
He hasnt had to face more than 2 batters but once and he still got just 2 outs that appearance. Doesnt seem like the staff has much trust in him at all yet, he seems to only come in when we're up by a lot and need just a couple outs.

I mean yeah he looks good, but he's got 3.1 career IP. Any major judgement on that small of a sample size, good or bad, is probably somewhat of an overreaction.

Maybe so. I guess I was just impressed by last night because if he doesn’t come through there the game could’ve gotten hairy because the tying run would be on deck with the bases loaded

That was a nice changeup to finish the last batter off

I’m pretty sure he was a draft risk coming out of high school so the talent is there just need to get him healthy and in a groove

I agree with the sentiment that it’s way too small of a sample size to assume he’s going to have a significant role, but it’s definitely encouraging that a) they turned to him to close things out and b) he was effective and avoided the walk issues that we’ve seen from the bullpen this weekend.
He was a top 50 recruit so I think it’s hard to avoid the temptation of reading too much into small successes. But he looked nowhere close to being a contributor last season, so things are looking up.

I mean the spot he came in last night wasn't exactly low pressure. Seems they either trust him somewhat, or JJ wanted to see if he could trust him moving forward. And he delivered.

Your response seems tempers so I wouldn't say it's an overreaction to think he could be solid as a backend pitcher but it would to say you expect that based on the little we have seen him.

He sure as hell looked better than Woods yesterday. So he's got that going for him.

He's definitely a wildcard. He was the #1 ranked right-handed pitcher in California for the Class of 2022 when he arrived. Another big body with good velo. It would be great to see him continue to evolve into a reliable BP arm with more reps & sets.

Small sample size but there are things like his repeatable motion, movement, steadily increasing velocity that are relevant. I think he will work his way into our top ten.

Evans is your closer. That is the list for the closer role.

This is where I am with Noot. I’d be very surprised though if he gets buried and forgotten about . I’m hoping for a late season emergence
