Maybe Charter Lakes or Skisafe.

You likely will need to get it surveyed by a marine surveyor if it hadn’t already been.

From there Great Lakes may be the most reasonable, or at least will tell you what else you need. They usually have “named storm” requirements such as pulling the boat up with a travel lift or some other mitigation plan usually involving getting it out of the water.

What general area? Does it have propulsion? Hull material?

Not being a smart arse when I say this.

Someone will always write you insurance on anything. But at what cost?

I would sit down and do some math on the value of the asset against what you are willing to pay to insure it and for how long as it depreciates. Then figure in deductible, storm coverage and the rest of it.

Are you talking about an actual houseboat that was factory built to have a motor with a production date? Or are you talking about someone took some pontoons, plywood, and built and shack on top type of houseboat that’s popular on the rivers along the gulf coast? I would think the former has a good chance the latter not so much.

How much is it worth or did you pay for it? Most people self insure the latter, as in they don’t pay enough to care about needing insurance.

I'd wait until this storm is over to worry about insurance. You may not have a reason to buy any

Without propulsion you’re going to have a hard time finding anyone to take that risk. Find an independent agency and let them work for you.

Is it secured with spuds so that it can move up and down with the tidal changes?

It has two .. 3in pipes located on the corners... They are attached to metal post in the ground on shore. They move up and down with the tide.

Also I threw a couple of lines
Around a pine tree

Where i'm at on the Pascagoula River the water level is controlled by the tides more than the river basin run off

we built a 70x20 floating camp after Andrew, it’s been anchored up near the wax lake delta since then, no insurance. Just make sure it can float with the surge and hope for the best.

Ours has been thru every storm that went thru there since Andrew without major damage. It is somewhat protected tucked into a dead end canal surrounded by trees though

Don’t leave anything out there you can’t afford to lose or can’t replace. And leave the front door unlocked
