he signed a 1 year deal for $1MM we would get absolutely torched with recruiting. You can’t sit there and say you’d send your son a top rated recruit to a guy that may be gone in a year. I agree the deal isn’t ideal but just imagine the repercussions. If he coaches out of his mind and we do extremely well you have other suitors and we may even have to overpay.

Reason #351 why Orgeron should have never been considered.

Buyouts in general need to be percentage based and change from year to year based on record.

shite the salary needs to be adjusted in that same manner. If you win the national title, $9 mill is fine for that season, but a 9 & 3 year you get SUBSTANTIALLY LESS and on down.
It's ridiculous what these frickers are being paid. Look at Malzohn for instance. He's not going to EARN that money. Jimbo is not worth his salary either, not even close. Jimbo ain't gonna go 11 & 1 every season, yet he's being paid big time. These salaries are way, way out of line. These athletic departments and fans are being duped! Make it performance-based or continue to see declining attendance!

Only thing they needed to do for optics is sign a 3-4 year deal but with little to no buyout after year 1. Hr would have taken it easily and recruits see 4 years. I promise they could give a crap about buyouts or anything else other than term

We have great hope for LSU Football this season, I certainly do; but this is as high of stakes as it gets, so these jokers better get it done!

I'm actually kind of surprised you agree/said this. Very rational for an O disciple

Os salary would be the perfect scenario where it's a low salary and very heavy incentives. Nope, we give him what Miles was making.

Who gives a shite what any outsiders say? Hell Auburn was paying 3 coaches at one time...........Aggie paid 10.4 Million to Fire Sumlin after 8 wins.......and hired a coach with 6 wins.....

I'm no O fan but I don't hate the man. I will say I don't believe a word he says though. He knows what to say to the fanbase but seldom delivers.

With that being said, I do give him credit for the win over Auburn, the bowl game win vs Louisville.

This past recruiting class.... ehhhhh. But I give him credit for getting Burrow, several transfers as well.

It boils down to this-if Orgeron wants, or even the Pro O crowd want, him to be recognized or give him credit, it has to be seen on game day. I'm talking results. It's that simple.

Win big games, win admiration, win respect, win recruits, win people becoming less apathetic.

If we start to see a repeat of last season, this 'experiment' is over and both O and Alleva are gone. At this point, Alleva is joined at the hip with his decision to hire O and I sure don't see Alleva hiring another HC at LSU.

This isn't to be confused with me wanting O to fail. I'll be at every home game in my seats like always. I want to see him do great and excel. Not sure he can do that but we'll all see. Alleva can leave right now though, as far as I'm concerned.

The fact is it's just talk until we, pro O, anti O, whatever, see it on the field.

Let's just get the season started.

That article is trash. Refers to Devin White as a LB still learning the position and doesn’t even mention the fact that we signed Cole Tracy, article insinuates that Jack Gonsoulin is still our kicker.

Don’t get so worked up over BS. Season starts in less than a month. We ridin’!

So, we’ve gone to working with “ifs” when it comes to hiring a multi-million dollar head football coach? He’ll have to “coach out of his mind” consistently, over time, for ANYONE ELSE to even take a glance at him. Planning for that extremely rare scenario is a huge what-if.

Your gamble on Orgeron had better pay off big this year. No excuses.
Agreed. Rubber... meet road. And if Orgeron, Alleva, and King fricking Alexander get run over in the process so be it.

If they drive off into the sunset...so be it.

The clock ran out on Les in 2015. They botched that. Let's not make the same mistake twice: When the clock runs out, make a move.

Arky made that mistake. There's a reason Long went before Fat Bert. This year, and this year alone, will determine if we are in the same slow motion disaster that they brought on themselves.

Now it will take this season to determine that. All the facts aren't quite in yet. But many are, this is "simple math" to me. This season's results are the only missing variable. Once we have that, solve it and move forward.

despite bama having some of the most condescending c.unts in the country among their overnight army of sidewalk fans, the article is right when it says O would have taken the job for essentially nothing. hell, we probably could have made him buy tickets to the games.

but that's irrelevant bc of what you just said. every coach in every living room of every recruit would annihilate us, and what would really suck is that they'd be right.

that $3.5M buys the appearance of stability. it makes us look like we actually wanted O, that we think hes the answer and things are going well, that LSU is still LSU and we still have money to burn.

none of that shite is true, but the last thing we need to do is admit that.

That fact you’re on a bama football site says it all!!

Just do it. Cut ties with your LSU fandom, go to Walmart and buy a Tide shirt. You know it’s what you really want.

The reason that the overwhelming majority of LSU fans will only read LSU sites is probably a large factor why so many of them are so terribly uneducated when it comes to college football.

They think LSU is incredible and will beat every team by 3 touchdowns because they don’t bother to read about any other teams.

I had people calling me a Bama fan in a thread because I knew who was on their starting roster. Talk about pathetic...
