What is the velo for the SEC? It may not be a Marucci thing only. Sometimes they mess with the balls or restrict bats to certain energy conversion.

Back when McGuire and Sosa were hitting everything out of the park the balls were hot. PEDs helped too

Oh, hell yeah, 2009 exit velo data right next to the iPhone 3GS analytics department.

I must’ve missed when every SEC park had full Statcast coverage six years before it even existed. Groundbreaking stuff. You should send that dataset to MLB, they’ve been looking for it since 2015.

“I pulled the data from 2009”
Congrats on being the only human with Statcast in the flip phone era.

Where do these posts come from? BBCOR…..then raised threads….now lower threads on the ball….. seems to have reached a “happy medium” yet we have posters 27 years behind the news cycle

Didn’t BBCOR become a thing in 2010. There is no discernible difference between any of the big time BBCOR bats. Sweet spot, balance, end load and durability are really the only thing that makes a difference and it’s personal preference at best.

Read what BBCOR means and you’ll see exactly why 2009 EV was much higher.

We're hitting the ball plenty hard when we hit it.

Bro, Just bring back the Stealth and the CXN from around 2006-2009. Balls would hit the Football Practice fields.

Combat Spec A1 is the best bat in the bbcor game right now.

But Marucci Rckless (1 piece) is right underneath there and goes toe to toe with most of the rest out there.

Rawlings icon just came out with an interesting 1 piece composite bat that is hot as hell too.

Curiel is dumb for not transitioning to the 1 piece rckless.

They are all within a few mph of each other though. Ranges between 105-110 consistently. 105 is plenty enough to get over the fence and the eye ball can’t tell the difference on a liner. Being comfortable with what you are swinging is more important if you ask me, which I’m aware you didn’t do.

does he need a back rub to get comfortable with the new rckless? did he give the bat an extensive look and try? would love to know the behind the scenes info and data that may go into these decisions.

Love it, I remember the big barrel showed up in LL for the first time in the late 70's (78 to be exact). They were different and had some pop.

My son and his teammates, 14-15 years ago, were big fans of the Demarini Vodoo models. They were BBCOR, but they had some flex & pop. Around that same time Demarini was blazoned on the LSU dugout wall.
Good stuff.
