I guess I’m an idiot for wanting us to beat BAMA with both teams as healthy as possible. That doesn’t mean that I think a win over BAMA without Tua is insignificant or loses its value, it just means that I would rather LSU accomplish more by beating the supposed best quarterback.

You have LSU fans and football fans from Louisiana. Learn the difference. LSU fans only care about what’s best for LSU. They will never pull for Bama. They want us to win. Then the others who want a good matchup and pull for SEC teams because they worry about what media members might say otherwise.

Speaking the truth! You think Clemson fans give a damn that all they play is air until the playoffs?

yes you are a complete idiot, or more likely, if you really are a fan of LSU, you are trolling. I don't believe an LSU fan could think this way. It would make no sense at all

Really? You really want to hear “you didn’t really beat us” being constantly parroted by them (and much of the media) because “Tua didn’t play”?

Not me. I want them to know they 100% got their asses handed to them by a better team.

Well, we got pretty lucky to play in the NC with 2 losses.

Keep in mind, I'm not saying this to refute that luck plays a roll in most years...but LSU wasn't lucky to get in with 2 losses in 2007.

There was one undefeated team, and a handful of two loss teams. It was an odd year that way. However if we were going largely by eyeball tests and best resume, LSU was, without question, the best available 2 loss team in 2007 having gashed the only team with a claim to go instead of them earlier in the year in VT.

I wish people would stop calling 2007 lucky. I realize some do it to discredit the title because of an issue with Miles, but it also discredits LSU's title...and considering we only claim three, it's probably not the best route to take. LSU did not back into the title game that year...they played their way in the same as any other team did that season. And then promptly beat the shite out of OSU.

Love any scenario to beat them, period, and then have their fan-base (propaganda machine) lose their minds when they are left out of the POs. Leaving Bama out of the POs will be the impetus to get a PO expansion from 4 to 6/8. Put it in the books.

I think people are just pointing out that there is almost always a good bit of luck in winning a ncaa football championship. There is always going to be some games where the ball bounced your way, you got a good break from the refs, a lucky or freak play went your way, injuries, an easy schedule, or another team to win or lose a particular game. Just a lot goes into it besides being just a great team as there are generally multiple great teams in any given year.

Why would that bother you?

You think they care if an LSU fans whines about not having Devin White during the first half of the game last year? Were BAMA fans clamoring to the SEC to Free Devin White during the 2 week buildup to the game last year out of fear of not getting "LSU's best", or were they oddly arguing it really WAS targeting?

Nah...this is the mentality that gets the rest of the SEC into accepting the bullshite that comes out of Birmingham that tends to favor BAMA and then suggest that we all just need to overcome whatever favoritism there may be, because "that's what winners do." No one will speak up, for fear of being called "scared" by BAMA...

I'm good with their entire 1st team being out, and then promptly ignoring their whines after the game when we win. It's what they'd do...

the media isn't going to go that way but their fans heads will implode, which will be awesome, when they are left out of the playoffs and felt they lost only because Tua didn't play and are so upset that no one else gives a shite

Which is why I first said...

I was addressing the need that some LSU fans have to downplay the 2007 title as "lucky" when there was nothing especially lucky about it. Having 2 losses and playing for the title was not lucky...any more so than having 2 losses in 2006 was unlucky for not even winning the SECW. It so just happened that in 2007, there were no undefeated teams and only one 1 loss team. Personally, I don't call that particular thing luck. LSU was the obvious best available team with 2 losses.

They don't have any qualms saying they were the champs in 2011. Many times I've said bama shouldn't have been in the natl champ game, and they say but we were and we whipped lsu so we are the champs.

I hope they have a million excuses all while Joey B takes the heisman and lsu wins the trophy.

nonsense. Most competitors want to beat their opponent when he's at his best.

Now sure, the championship trophy doesn't have an asterisk, but competitors (and fans) want to truly feel they've earned it.

For example, if every single starter for Alabama got hurt or suspended for our game, and we beat them 35-0, would you feel as proud and fulfilled as if we beat them at full strength.

I wouldn't - although I'd take the W.

again, this is plain wrong.

A good example is when Alabama beat Texas for the NC 10 years ago - everyone definitely remembers that Colt McCoy got hurt early and Texas had to use a freshman QB, which completely changed the game.

Now sure, the win counts and the NC trophy is in Bama's trophy case, but every football fan feels like that game was a bit of a fraud (though no fault of Alabama), since McCoy got hurt.

I would've loved to see Bama and Texas at full strength.
