Is anyone else disappointed that it is over?

No. It was time for the season to be over. Everyone who had a claim to what LSU was taking for themselves stood up to try to take it back. 15 tried to do it directly. None did. Others were stopped by teams that we ultimately finished off.

I'm as satisfied as I will ever be with any team I root for, but it was time for the season to end. Eventually, every team loses and the more games you play, the greater the chance for one stumble to erase all the greatness you'd accomplished.

There is a difference in “greatest team” and “greatest season

You are right as far as "greatest season ". But it is also the greatest team in the sense that team is more than individual players. It is the coaching staff, team chemistry, play calling, ability to execute the plays etc. Based on that criteria, I say that 2019 LSU is the greatest team ever.

I don't even think it's a discussion. It's not up for debate. This LSU team is the greatest college football team of all time.

This seems to be the measuring stick...just how good was that 2001 Miami team? I would way heavily on the schedule and quality of the competition that LSU has played this year-also the amount of games.....
This is really a special team

So get your minds right, LSU fans. It won't ever get any better than this.
What is this guy blabbering about that apparently he is the only person that seems to understand and none of us do?

Gee, I guess we'll have to see how many probowlers are on this college team in the next few years...stay tuned...you made a logically unfair comparison in my opinion...have a great day!

I thought we’d go 11-1 and maybe have a shot at making the playoff, but if you’d posted before the season that this would happen, I’d have mocked the hell out of you.

What an incredible year.

Not only did we beat the defending champs by 17 but we took 2 knees on their 4 yard line to end the game instead of letting Clyde punch it in and win by 24.

That might be why Dabo was so complimentary of O in his post game interview. He knew we should have beat them by 24 and respected O for having the class not to run up the score.

Another fun stat..
LSU played 3 top 6 defenses in Georgia, Clemson, and Florida who were giving up a combined average of 13.8 points/game.
LSU averaged 40.3 points against those guys.

One of the most incredible things about this team is that there wasn't anything out there that could slow us down. We scored 40+ whether your defense was first or last.

We also played 3 top 6 offenses in Alabama, Clemson, and Oklahoma who had a combined average of 44.4 points per game. LSU held them to an average of 31.3.

I hear ya. I've been trying to wrap my head around it and all I can do is laugh. It's just silly what this team did.

I was not comparing their pro career to college, I was just saying go look at the names. Winslow was backing up Shockey. Magahee, Gore, and Portis, wilfork, Vilma, Ed Reed, etc. A lot of talent that went on to excel in the pros

Most "fans" have been too busy crying about Brady and OBJ to appreciate it.

This. Exactly this. It's going to take some time to process what we just witnessed. There will be a 30 for 30 about this team. There will be documentaries about this team. This team will be talked about for the rest of our lives.

All future great teams will be compared to the 2019 Tigers. Future QBs will be compared to Joe Burrow. The 2019 LSU Tigers are now the measuring stick by which all future champions will be judged.

Hard to wrap my mind around that. It's surreal to hear this national conversation in which a LSU team is being compared to '95 Nebraska and '01 Miami.

YES. Thank you - so tired of hearing about Miami. There isn't a college PRO bowl. Those were college players on a college team and our team on Monday completed their stamp as the greatest team in college, ever.
How about this argument: would those soon-to-be-great players have been able to compete with this offense? They'd never seen the spread before, and we can stop the run. Miami would have lost - it's out of context, and not a great comparison. The best team would have been LSU.
