What bothers me the most abiut this is that University made a commitment to Terrace (Education, Nutrition and training facilities, travel costs for competition, etc). In return his commitment back to the University should be to finish the season. In my view he did not opt out, he quit

It’s mutual

The same way he gets benefits while on scholarship, he’ll have them pulled the minute he stops playing

The investment ends. Period.

I don’t agree with everything you said.
But to become a team leader, then call a players only meeting and be the main guy talking, then to opt out with the 3 toughest games ahead???
Complete and total BS. He should get PUSSY tattooed on his forehead. In white ink.

lot of fans have given decades of their time, energy, and hard earned financial support to the program, and without that, there is no college football. These guys are trained entertainers. Without fans, their platform and sports don’t exist. I’m sorry, I can’t agree that Chase (as an example), giving the program two years of his time outweighs what many fans have been giving to the program over multiple generations.

Wait... you think fans give more to lsu football than players? Wow..... we have some straight up delusional fans. Let me know the next time you give up your body and future health for lsu football. When is the last time you put your knee ligaments on the line for lsu football?

Also... I said they gave more to lsu football...the op I responded to was not talking about the scholastic part of lsu.

I agree.

How do you think other guys that honored their commitment feel about it?

Its cute watching the keyboard warriors run their mouths knowing they wouldn't say none of that shite in front of the players.

If you don’t want to claim those tigers it’s fine.

But if you’re going to forget them, forget their achievements.

Starting with the 2019 National Championship. In which Marshall and Chase combined for 3 TDS.

Nah, this season is bizarre, and isn't going to matter in a few years. Concerning Marshalls decision, the regular season would have been over at this point in a normal year.

I don’t think TM quit on the team. He’s got much to consider and quite honestly the season is going to be a bust from a results standpoint. What would his presence realistically add to the team at this point? If we were undefeated fighting for the SEC championship, I think that would be a different discussion. With him moving on, the younger guys can get more reps and start getting ready for 2021. I don’t like the whole sit out of the bowl game / opt out thing personally, But as an LSU fan only; it doesn’t feel good. But TM should be thinking about how an NFL contract will help his family. I think his heart is in the right place but I will miss seeing him play.

Down vote all you want but this is bullshite.

This is a bizarre season because of the Covid and general disruption. I don’t see any good reason to criticize college players who opt out.

As a fan I would rather watch them play, because I enjoy watching them play.

But it’s their call and I’m not going to criticize them for it.

Some are not like the others. To opt out before the season is one thing. To quit the day after a loss another. He's a coward and a fraud.

Marshall just up and quit right before the 2 toughest games in the schedule

Are you kidding me? He stuck it out basically the whole season. Those two games should have already been played, and he would have been right there on the field. Some of you people are just idiots.

You have no idea what his motivation for opting out is. And again... you wouldn't say that shite to his face or around his teammates.
