Like Chase, Shelvin, Marshall etc who elected to “opt out”....should EVER be considered as LSU Tigers, much less Tiger GREATS!!! They should never be welcomed to campus again. This type of BS will only pave the way for so many others to cop out when the going gets tough!!! Down vote all you want but this is bullshite.

That has nothing to do with my post. Another year, different challenges, different expectations.

They will always be tigers regardless how they left the program. You are a frustrated fan like the rest of us but this is the future unfortunately.

Dude who won the Belitnikoff isn’t a Tiger great.
OK dude.
OK dude.

Actually I respect Chase, Shelvin, and Vincent more that Marshall.
The truly opted out and didn’t start the season.
Marshall just up and quit right before the 2 toughest games in the schedule

EVERY athletic scholarship is a ONE year scholly. Remember that when criticizing kids for going pro. The school does not commit to them for four years or until a degree. Many kids are asked to leave or otherwise “cut” when they don’t pan out. These kids make tens of millions for LSU and our entertainment. They are doing so while chasing a dream. Let them chase it and be happy for what they accomplished here.
If I have learned ONE thing in the last 20 years, it’s that damn near anyone can coach LSU to a NC. Les and O both won them. Neither are great coaches. Both are elite recruiters. Elite recruits only stuck around 2-3 years max.

Would you or LSU pay his bills for the rest of his life if he had a career-ending injury?

Marshall and Chase were both integral parts of what is considered to be one of the greatest offensive teams in the history of CFB. I'm sure their teammates consider them Tiger greats. Which means that the shite guys like you spew because you feel scorned...is basically meaningless.

Out of all the dumb posts about the opt outs, this is the dumbest
Congrats

They’re fare weather players
I have no love loss
I guess when the sun is shining and we’re on a roll, they’ll hope we forget and welcome them back on campus with open arms but I hope they get dissed

What bothers me the most about this is that the University made a commitment to Terrace (Education, Nutrition and training facilities, travel costs for competition, etc). In return his commitment back to the University should be to finish the season. In my view he did not opt out, he quit

A lot of fans have given decades of their time, energy, and hard earned financial support to the program, and without that, there is no college football. These guys are trained entertainers. Without fans, their platform and sports don’t exist. I’m sorry, I can’t agree that Chase (as an example), giving the program two years of his time outweighs what many fans have been giving to the program over multiple generations.
ETA: The University is also bigger than the football program. All these "regular joes" going to school, earning degrees, and then giving back when they're done, tax paying citizens, etc. are why the school exists. Without the school, there is no football either. Someone playing football, going to practice, and "coasting" through school without any intent of earning a degree is no more admirable than a kid putting in 30+ hours a week studying and going to class, many of which are also maintaining jobs to support themselves while the athletes have their lives and well-being served to them on a silver platter.
