Oh you mean the one I posted on the OP? The one that clearly shows Anderson being bracketed?

Nope. A photo doesn’t show much. The speed matters. AA was blowing past that deep safety who had just started to move. Had the ball been laid over AA’s right shoulder, that safety would not have been close to a factor. Look at the video from the end zone shot. If you do that, and maintain your position, you are just trolling. Nobody who knows anything about football can see that evidence and think that safety was a factor.

He was struggling all game, but you criticize that throw, on like 4th and 6, for the game? It was perfect, perfect lead, didn’t sail it, threw it before the wr was open…You can criticize his game before that throw, and I have no problem, cause he was just struggling, throwing off his back foot, seemed scared to get hit, etc…. But his last 2 throws were as good as it gets….

That wasn’t the route, Anderson was always breaking to the inside. Which when you consider that, laying the ball over his right shoulder is quite literally impossible. And had he done that, he gives the nickel a chance to recover and gives the safety a chance to get over the top.

He made the perfect throw.

incredible throw. I was surprised that most of our routes were downfield and it didn't look like any were near the sticks.

When AA was looking at the QB he was looking over his right shoulder. A ball thrown over his right shoulder would be the easiest catch imaginable.

You are either trolling, ignorant, or else we are discussing different plays. But I don’t think it’s the latter, because we seem to both be discussing the TD that got us to 22.

You’re the only one in this thread who’s taken that stance. You sure you’re not the ignorant one? Everyone else who saw that throw is in agreement that it was the perfect throw.

So who really is the ignorance one here?

I’m going to be downvoted to smithereens but it was not a great play or a great throw by the QB; it was certainly not a perfect throw, which would have been caught over the shoulder where the defender could not have gotten within two feet of it. Also, it was single coverage right in front of the QB who had about 90 minutes to throw the ball. Earlier on the drive, on third and 10, Nuss made an incredibly agile scramble, and with a defender clawing at him from behind, leapt in the air to throw a perfect strike to Mason Taylor. That was 10 times the play this one was.

First of all, I’m going to have to agree with the analysts, former players, coaches and commentators on this one, not someone just looking for attention.

Second, you are ignoring the DB covering Lacy, who would have peeled over and likely intercepted any pass with air under it. This was a timing play and it was perfect.

Third - Nuss threw the ball within 2 seconds of the snap, so enough of the “had 90 minutes to throw” hyperbole.

The ball was thrown so early that in the NEZ it looked horribly off. It was shocking that it was caught but now that I’ve seen the replay it doesn’t seem so off - you can see it’s something that was practiced over and over again.

In summary, just stop. Admit you are wrong and find something else to argue about.

Anderson has dramatically improved in all areas. With the injuries we have had, we would be in bad trouble without the huge way he has stepped up.

Glad he hit it but man the underneath route was wide open and a much safer throw. Under had lots of room to run too.

You make a good point. OTOH, I felt more comfortable w/ a difficult throw + routine catch by Anderson than a routine throw + routine catch by Thomas. I'm more confident w/ Anderson catching the ball than Thomas. Thomas had some passes thrown to him that game I felt he should've caught. They weren't routine, but he should've caught some of them.

I agree. I love Thomas and think he’s been way underutilized on offense, but he showed Saturday why he’s not a top WR. He didn’t miss any, really, but an LSU WR has to come down with at least one of those. He need to get the ball in his hands around the LOS—I think he could actually be a really good RB.

And even if we’d have completed that short pass to him and gotten the 1st down, but didn’t score, our offense is terrible inside the 10 when the field shrinks. I actually like our chances better from the 20-25 than the 5-10. It was ballsy, but it worked out perfectly. Would have been gut wrenching to have a 1st and goal from the 7 or wherever and come up empty.

And gotta give a lot of credit to anderson because Nuss put the ball where he believed that anderson would get to it. Just a lot of trust all around. And lets not forget that was Nuss's 3rd progression so the line had to give him the time to let Anderson start his break, Total team play there and yes that was a Sunday throw,

Thomas WAS wide open - much more open than Anderson - and when it's 4th and Game, you should take the better option

I'll also add, Thomas probably scores too, if not he gets probably within a yard

that being said, glad it worked out!!

I'm just glad Aaron Anderson is finally healthy.

I was hard on him last yr. I knew he could be this guy coming out of high school.

Fun fact: LSU didn't have a single receiver from that class committed that was in the Top 50 receivers nationally. Anderson was #4

And if the receiver would have ran the route wrong idiots on here would be saying how bad of a throw it was. Sometimes the INT is not on the qb

Nuss has the potential to be the best QB in the country. If he can trust his athleticism, and for the love of Christ, stop throwing off his back foot so much………..he would be unstoppable

it's just amazing to me how a person can find a way to twist and stretch and warp a subject matter to the breaking point.,
sure, not everyone will agree and ones opinion may differ among many; but you penrod I think are the type that enjoys antagonizing as many people as you can.

whether it's here on the rant or the political board or the O-T Lounge, you just fill these boards with the opposite opinion repeatedly.

makes me wonder if you learned that in grade school whenever it was 'Opposite Day'.
