It’ll be interesting to see if Riley ever comes up with a good enough defense under his watch. Thus far I can’t recall him every having a big-time D. That’s what made me nervous back when Riley was a rumored candidate for the LSU job.

I think it will be Texas against SEC champion for natty whoever that is

I don't see it. Texas will choke and blow a game they should win, per the norm.

It was one game.even the dominant teams have a couple unsuspecting close games

I concur Jack. Texas will get tripped up - possibly twice. I can also envision Florida State dropping one somewhere “on the trail.” USC will lose 1 or 2 most likely as well.

FSU is good, but definitely beatable. Boston College almost upset them last week

I predict they will lose to North Carolina State. Any time FSU has a good season going they seem to always lose to North Carolina St.

But it is WAY too early go make any definitive statements one way or the other.

Seems to me we will have a season on par with 2007.

I’d love that too but the 2007 team didn’t lose a game by 3 (really 4) touchdowns

The Gumps may turn it around when they give up passing with Milroe and go back to three yards and a cloud of dust but I really hope not.

I don't think you can consider a close game a team not being elite.

Would UGA last year be considered elite? They had a close game with Mizzou early. Then we all saw what they did in the CFP.

Every team has a bad game, even elite teams.

Texas will definitely blow a game to either OU or BYU. The Mormons own them.

Reason for this in my opinion is the early effects of the open portal and untamed NIL.

A few have been mentioned but generally I agree. Interesting season so far for that reason. Esp Pac-12

These teams are just beginning to evolve and will all get better as the season continues. No team will have reached their best potantial until Mid November. Then you will see who is dominant.

Georgia certainly benefits greatly from such a cream puff schedule.

I wonder what would have happened vs. South Carolina had that game been played in Columbia, S.C.?

But yes, the Bulldogs certainly seem beatable.

Exactly right, and that seems to happen to a lot of teams. The old “human condition” sets in.
