We lack creativity on the offensive side of the ball. Sark and Kiffin are light years beyond E

I always thought that was odd because last year Burrow would have snuck it immediately. If you will recall that was the game that Brennan got hurt and struggled to finish the game and nobody else had any experience at that point. I honestly think Brennan told them he could not do it due to injury and they did not have confidence in anyone else to go in and do it.

You can get away with that after a win but will get blasted if it was a loss. LSU fans are emotional creatures.

That was the only loss that was a true head scratcher. I can see us not being ready for state and losing the other games but mizzou? In that fashion? That was tough. We honestly ended up with only 1 more loss than what we were mostly projected to be. 6-4 with losses to the elite. 5-5 with a big upset win. Honestly once you get past 2 losses, who gives a shite?
My point is, we’re still here, we’re gonna be fine. Get Rid of Pelini and let’s move forward. 2021 is 9 wins or bust!

Who looked better, Burrow in 18 or Johnson in 20?

Doesn’t Linehan call 3rd down & red zone?
Maybe I’m wrong but I think the OC can override the assistant of any call he wants

Think about how bad this year was. Now think about it with us not having Cade York. If we had an average kicker we'd be 3-7

Our offense was good outside a couple of games in 2018
He sucks ar 3rd down and red zone calling. See 2018 and this year. We are terrrible in both

Hindsight is 20/20. If the o line BLOCKS in one of those plays we aren’t even talking about it

I don’t get why E catches so much flak
Play design, offensive innovation, exploiting opponent weaknesses. None of this exists in his old man play book. The most innovative thing he can draw up is a flea flicker.
Did we use any zone read concepts with Max Johnson to play off his running threat yesterday? No
Do we involve our running backs as a pass catching threat? No
Did we game plan around getting the ball to our 5 star tight end? No. He averaged 4 catches per game and now he's gone

E is an absolute dinosaur. Zero innovation, zero. Very predictable. Go back and watch the 2nd LSU drive from Ole Miss game. We get two quick first downs and are running tempo. After 2nd 1st down we run quickly to get set, watch Ole Miss fly up to the line of scrimmage. This happens all the time -- we severely overuse something that works a couple times. No self scouting. Absolutely horrendous red zone play calling all year.
Go back and watch the routes run by our WR last year. Think of the WR play last year -- how much better was CHase, Jefferson and Marshall in one year with Joe Brady. Brady ain't the only guy who can coach but he is a great example of an excellent tactician and teacher. Watch our routes this year -- very simple.
The LSU play at Bama last year the Clyde scored on was drawn up by Brady in the middle of the summer and practiced several times. He had it in his back pocket for the right time... New formation, called quickly, defense didn't have time to react and great result.
Great play callers always have plays in their back pocket.
Missouri should have been a W. Not scoring that close is totally on Steve Ensminger.

Prior to yesterday's game LSU had a 3rd conversion percentage of 35%. Thats ranked 102nd in the country. Thats not championship winning football.
Ensminger is also poor at getting our RBs in space and more involved in the passing game.

He's not terrible, but very average. There is no creativity whatsoever. Perhaps because Johnson is a freshman, but there is no RPO. In fact, I don't recall even seeing play action passes yesterday which makes this offense very predictable. Fortunately, Ole Miss has a terrible defense.
Ask yourself this....If Ensminger "retired" today, but then wanted to come back as OC in the Fall, would you hire him back? If the answer is no, then he has no business being here now. He's a Tiger through and through, but we can do better.

There are several other options to score at the goal line. Several. Just watch any NFL offense near the goal line - 1st and goal inside the 5 yard line. Most NFL teams run some sort of play action and drag TE across formation -- very hard to defend even for NFL defenses. If Brennan was hurt, too slow, then try a couple routes that rub people on goal line. Seemed to worked really well last year.
Does Sark or Kiffin have to pay someone $800K to supplement their brain power for red zone offense? Get rid of Ensminger and see where he ends up. He was right where his level of competency truly is on Les' staff -- position coach at TE.

We would have praised this kind of collective offensive performance prior to seeing last years spectacular O. I think poor O line play is obvious, but the play calls sometimes seem reminiscent of Les Miles era. Predictable and playing it save...that said, Boutte having 300+ yards is good for any offense. No run game alarms me though.

Based on the "intelligent" posters on this board, any time a play doesn't go as planned, it's a coach who failed in some way - either by calling that play in the first place or by using the wrong personnel or by failing to recruit the right personnel or by hiring inferior assistant coaches, et al.
Every game, there's a bunch of nerds who post something after every play and sound like they're about to commit suicide when the play fails. They condemn players by names as if those players have deliberately inflicted pain upon them.
These people judge themselves important or not by whether the football team wins (and wins convincingly) or not. When we won the national championship, they could crow and act superior. They can't act like that when we aren't national champions. Thus, it's the coach's fault.
They all need to grow up.
