That’s not how what works? We paid him a lot more money to leave ND and he did. He was fine with that.

Other schools are paying his recruits a lot more money to leave LSU. He has a problem with that. All of a sudden that is “unfortunate.”

Nothing I need to read up on to see that is hypocrisy.

You want the #1 program but are buthurt that we are paying the coach the 10 highest salary... We recruited him to come here and paid what it took. Sounds like you have the hypocrisy.

No they don't. They're going to do what Notre Dame does and that is they'll make the playoffs and maybe win a game there but ultimately will run up against a team that outmatches them 1-85 and they'll lose. The entire reason BK left.

The irony in this is hilarious. You realize the past includes the man you are defending?

Maybe that's what Kelly does, not Notre Dame.

At a school with higher academic standards that was a tougher sell for elite athletes in the South from a geographic perspective. Even with a boost from NIL, ND is not keeping up with LSU in recruiting. LSU’s recruiting classes are better than any he had at ND.

He just needs to take a saban approach and say less.

saban often said a lot more than Kelly does

Saban took on challenging questions all the time...always used it to communicate to the players and coaches, fans-everyone

This is not unlike the job market either. Everyone of us will leave for more money I'll bet. As a employer, this is especially true if you're in the technology space and competing for skills that are in high demand like AI...big companies with deep pockets like Google and Apple always win over the smaller ones.

I’m not sure what this has to do with anything I said. He’s doing the same things at LSU as he did at ND. He runs teams out on the field a few games a year that are completely outmatched and unprepared. Not sure why people think it’s going to magically change because of a few good recruits. If he wants to compete with the big guns in the SEC he better land top 3-4 classes every year because it’s too hard to keep the same players for 3-4 years. At least if a class get dismantled the following year by the portal/injuries/etc then you still have a decent foundation to build upon. He won’t compete in the SEC trying to build a team out of portal players

For this to be hypocritical
you would have to think Kelly only came here for the money.

And i don’t think that’s true.

Exactly & very well put. It's amazing how many still don't understand this. It's a reason ND doesn't produce many great NFL players either. Plus being independent in football allows them to put together their weak schedule that props them up on a yearly basis.

Here's another nugget as well. There's a large number of Notre Dame alumni as executives & producers behind the scenes of large national media outlets & sports shows. It's why many of these outlets have had an obsession with Brian Kelly for years now & since he left Notre Dame that obsession has turned into bashing every chance they get.

Look at every other head coach's salary in the sec-BK not the only one getting paid

He's had no choice but to try to find experience & depth through the portal so far because of the shitshow the previous coach left behind. Plus he's had to do so competing with a NIL budget that dwarfs what some other programs are currently working with.

Bk is a coach and that is his job. Playing college sports isn’t supposed to be a job.

People like the OP don't care about facts like that nor do they actually have any desire to educate themselves by observing the entire landscape of college football. Can't see the forest for the trees.
