I bought in to the changes in practice, the concept of player and coaching management, the profession of "lessons learned" . . . I think a lot of players and the coaches bought in as well.

O spoke of the things he learned and implemented from coaching under Pete Carrol. That's great. I can do that too, but it doesn't make me Pete Carroll. There's a fine line between shorter practices and more film study and playing soft and losing the instinctive play from repetition as well as the stamina.

The old boxing axiom that "every fighter has a plan until he's hit" holds true. The same thing I used to see with Miles, I see X10 with O. The deer in the headlight look and inability to process what to do when your team is in trouble.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but his reaction/response post crisis tells me all I need to know. He's tweaked a few things, but he's still the same coach.

Les has quite a few come from behind wins against good teams. That tells me, he's actually been able to keep them together when facing adversity.

Those of us that got the Ban Hammer for vehemently opposing Orgeron appreciate your penance.

Good post.

Even with miles to me he always seemed to exude confidence even though he was speaking in riddles and sounding like a maniac. I'm surprised at how totally lacking in confidence O seems to be in what he says his tone his body language. Him being unprepared for questions that are obviously coming.

Orgeron is like the ex-bf or ex-gf that you take back after hearing them say "I've changed for the better."

and then a month back into it, you realize they're right...they have changed...for the worse.

At Ole Miss, he turned small turds into one huge turd.

At LSU, he's turning what used to be a goldmine into a cubic zirconia factory.

Yeah, I fell for it too. Wasn't excited about the hire, but I liked what I heard/saw from the man. We were duped.

Add my name to the list.

My order was Jimbo then Herman. Once we knew neither was coming, I liked the Orgeron experiment for a few reasons:

1: It keeps Aranda here
2: I wasn’t fond of the other candidates. I THOUGHT Orgeron would simply be the face of the program. Would be an excellent recruiter and motivator. The idea of him taking less money (although I think $3.5 M is way too much. This is his dream job and he wouldn’t get paid more anywhere else) and paying the coordinators more was brilliant in my opinion. Go out and get the best offensive coordinator with this extra cash.

I was simply wrong, I thought this experiment had a good chance at being successful and could possibly change the way other schools approached their head coaches and coordinators. But Orgeron couldn’t keep his hands out of the offense and is the opposite of motivating with throwing our players under the bus.

I’ll always support LSU, even if I don’t agree with the coaching decisions. Geaux Tigers!

Has Pete Carroll called Alleva and apologized for telling him to hire O yet?

not gonna lie... i went both ways. at first i was adamantly against O.... like not even on the radar, don't discuss this bullshite with me.... and then it happened, and somehow or another i sold myself and made myself believe it was by far the best, and that i was wrong in the beginning, and O was the answer. well... wrong again... i feel like such a jack azz...

Kudos to you for admitting. Lets open this up for forgiveness of all honorable O supporters who can admit they were wrong.

<------ I did and I can't lie. I'm over it now! This dude is over his head and doesn't have a clue how to run a program. If we go to Florida and get embarrassed he needs to be canned along with Alleva Sunday!

It's not only the product on the field to me it's more how he is handling things already off the field! Throwing players under the bus publicly, talking shite to fans on how he deserved the job and such!

Im liking all posts by repenting O supporters. Thank you for admitting you were wrong. Im glad people can finally admit it.

O haters saw it all along. We knew he was bad at Ole Miss, and that his interim track record was meaningless. We saw this meltdown coming. Its actually helped - I have not been too shocked at how bad we are, although I didnt think it would be this bad, losing to Troy etc

The problem is you listened to the hype instead of recognizing the obvious. Quit listening to what other people tell you is the truth and look around.

I was vehemently against the hire. I think I even got banned right when it happened for a bit. I never thought LSU would win anything with him, but I did convince myself that the talent and the rest of the coaching staff were enough to keep the program from going nuclear.

I was wrong.

I don't know what all this BS about Pete Carroll and easy practices is about. The Seahawks stayed in trouble with the NFL for having too violent of practices. USC didn't play soft for a Pac 10 team when Pete coached there. Those boys played like savages.

I'm with you RB10. I bought into that BS myself. We play soft and it's time to get back to some hitting in practice.

I have to admit, I was in the same boat. I hate that it is happening to our program but it’s like watching a train wreck on reality TV - you can’t turn away, just watch the implosion ensue.
