Football is violent. TX has 5 RB’s that are probably out today.

Sorry, I didn’t know you felt this way. I’ll make some calls.

Not saying our coaching staff is doing anything wrong but your statement is wrong
Yes, poor conditioning is a common risk factor for ACL injuries. Other risk factors include:
Lack of warm-up
Not having a structured warm-up program can increase the risk of ACL injuries.
Faulty movement patterns
Moving your knees inward while squatting can increase the risk of ACL injuries.
Poorly fitting footwear
Wearing shoes that don't fit properly can increase the risk of ACL injuries.
Poorly maintained equipment
Using equipment that isn't properly maintained, such as ski bindings, can increase the risk of ACL injuries.
Playing on artificial turf
Playing on artificial turf can increase the risk of ACL injuries.
Gender
Female athletes are more likely to experience ACL injuries than male athletes.
Lack of rest
Not getting enough rest after strength-building exercises can increase the risk of injury.
Some ways to reduce the risk of ACL injuries include:
Preventive training programs: These programs can reduce the risk of lower limb and knee injuries.
Neuromuscular training: These programs can improve neuromuscular control and reduce the risk of ACL injuries.
Proper conditioning: Proper sports-specific conditioning can help prevent knee injuries.
Proper warm-up: A proper warm-up can help prevent knee injuries.
Proper cool down: A proper cool down can help prevent knee injuries.
Proper nutrition and hydration: Maintaining proper nutrition and hydration can help prevent knee injuries.

I hate when people say "injuries are part of the game". Yes, they are, but they clearly don't affect everyone the same way. Look at Oklahoma this year, their top FIVE wide receivers are all out with injuries and they're having to convert other players to WR just to manage. Teams that have a great run always get lucky to an extent when it comes to injuries. Imagine if Burrow tore his ACL a few games into 2019.......you really think we would've still gone 15-0?

It’s funny how all of a sudden John Emery is a huge loss to a lot of fans when he’s hardly done anything in like 6 years at LSU.
I hate it for Emery getting injured but he was LSUs 3rd best RB at best. Durham is for sure better.

Please tell me the DT LSU has thats better than Guillory?
You moved the goal posts. You posted DL, and we certainly have a better dL than Guillory, probably two.

Looked to be our best but there was not enough data to tell. At minimum, he was our second-best.
No shot. Third at best. Josh Williams beat out Emery at every turn, including when Emery was healthy. And Durham is better, too. To start the season, a healthy Emery was third string, and the freshman Durham wasn’t even one of the two in front of him.

OL/DL get rolled. Emery is a broken toy. Perkins got buckled. shite happens. It isn't about conditioning or coaches. Football is a violent game. Violence breeds injuries. I had messed up knees before I even started high school. My back is killing my right now due to nerve damage. You play football, you expect repercussions.

Emery is not our best RB and Perkins is not our best LB, seriously?!

I hate snakebit seasons, and this one feels that way already
If I'm being honest, it's more of a plausible excuse than a season lost due to unfortunate events.
Emery really wasn't a difference maker. We are every bit as fine at RB (minus depth).
Guillory was a top 3 guy you can't lose, but we were pretty bad either way on the interior d line. We were going to struggle either way.
Perkins is one of our best athletes. But, we weren't getting the production out of him.
In other words, if you still had all 3 guys, I don't think this season is any different. We still are a team missing pieces and we still would view our team skeptically moving forward as we stare down the SEC schedule.

A good tackling safety would have made a bigger difference than Perkins and Guillory combined. Why we continue to roll with Burns blows my mind. There were plenty of safeties in the portal. Make it make sense.

The poster said best DL, not best DT. Swinson is definitely better, maybe Jones as well.

Anyone remember what happened to the Jets last year 6 plays into the season?
Injuries happen. And they suck. But you got to pick up and move on. That’s football.

quote:seems we had McKinley, Breaux, and Suggs step up for Jacobian. Durham had the best two games of our RB season after Emery went out. TBD regarding Perkins.
Better teams have good players in the 2 deep that can step in and fill those voids. We used to be one of those teams but not anymore.
Oh, and with Hilton out it seems our receivers stepped up big time.
Are you sure about your naysayer point?.

Don’t look. Simple solution

Always seems to happen to LSU
Always.
Like freaking clockwork.
Who was the badass a few years ago that tore his ACL in practice like a week before the season started?

LSU is in a unique/odd scenario where the more talented players may actually be the guy 2 or 3 deep in the depth chart. But they’re very young and less experienced. We have done a decent job at giving those guys playing experience over the last several games, as well as last season. The idea is to give them that experience, put some things on film for them to work on, without “throwing them to the wolves” and destroying their confidence. But now it’s time for them to step up.

I knew as soon as I read the title there would be some dumbass complaining about S&C.
Yeah man. When a 300lb dude falls on your ankle you could have prevented it with some squats or more foam rolling.
