It does show that the die-hards are in either EZ, while the “old money” or corporate “give-aways” are in the west/east sideline seats. Saw it in person last night. Halftime, and people didn’t refill those chair back seats.
We have tickets in the south end zone and we’ll see many of the same people we’ve seen for decades. Our area is definitely largely die hard fans.

Well I’m sick and tired of the people who are sick and tired of the people that really are sick and tired

What if you just left the paper ticket in the seat then leave at half tho?
Posted on 11/12/23 at 7:14 pm to deathvalleyfreak43
Not gonna change, it is hard for blue collar people to afford season tickets. Lots of season ticket holders pick two games to go to and sale the rest. It takes money to have premium athletic departments, I completely understand the prices but in the same hand the stadium experience has suffered.

Most students do sell or give them away, but most of the students that go show up take some pictures and then leave around halftime to make the walk to tigerland
Im not even talking about the students, the half emtpy seats on the 50 yard line right behind the team.
It wasnt cold, it wasnt raining, it wasnt a blow out, come on people.

Are you sure you're not confusing the East and West sides? Our seats are in the South end zone, and from our perspective, the most frequently empty seats are on the East side. Having said that, we don't have as good a view of the West side. I would be interested in hearing from someone that has a good view of both.

It wasn't just the student section. The students at least showed up to start the game. The paid seats had a lot of empties from the get go.
The crowd was actually bigger than I thought it would be after the Bama loss.
Hanagriff talked about this last night. He pointed out that a lot of people don't care about football. They go for the tailgating, to see and be seen, etc. It's always been this way but it's worse now. Last night there were a couple of kids sitting in front of us, looked like high schoolers on a date. The girl scrolled through tik tok literally the entire time. The boy halfheartedly paid attention to the game in between the girl showing him things on tik tok. They left in the third quarter.
I will also point out the traffic situation is getting worse, not better, both before and after the game. While I would never leave early and think it sucks, I have a tiny bit of sympathy for people trying to avoid that shitshow.
The traffic plan is illogical and the cops enforcing it are indifferent, surly, or both.

It just won’t ever be like it used to be so we can either continue to be surprised every game or accept. Only filled seat an individual can control is the one that he or she might plop down on.

Both those sections are nearly empty after half time in a one possession night game against Florida.. absolutely embarrassing and unacceptable.

It also doesn't help that we've distilled success down to "are you a top 4 team by Nov 1". Fans are hit over the head with "playoffs" year round, and once a team isn't realistically headed there, then it becomes real easy to dismiss games like last night as "pointless". Especially in the age of treating bowl games like prison sentences outside of maybe 1-2 NYD games
Hopefully the expanded playoffs will help solve this. If there was a 12 team playoff this year, LSU would still have a slim chance to sneak in, and hopefully that convinces a few more people that showing up and sticking around to support your team is worth it

The best solution is giving season ticket holders ticket rights. People who don’t go to many games can sell their rights to more eager fans. Works for the Saints.

People were leaving early in 2019. I seent it

This is false. And I was there opposite these sections and could see them clearly.
More empty seats visible? Yes.
“Nearly empty” is a bad exaggeration.

Okay Colonel Klink.
If you want to buy my tickets you can dictate how long my LWA sits in my seat

There’s nothing that you can do about it.
They way it used to be is over.
It is what it is and can’t be controlled or changed.
It’s how it’s gonna be going forward. Big SEC football is a social event now, most in there are there to be seen at the game.
It will never be how it used to be. Unless it’s a huge game or we are undefeated the stadium is gonna start clearing out after half time.
