I am embarrassed that I was jealous when Scoot Woodward hired Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M

We were supposed to hire Jimbo if we fired Les Miles at the end of the 2015 Texas A&M game. We decided to keep Les Miles after the team carried him off the field. Scott Woodward hires Jimbo at A&M two years later and I was jealous. I was in the mindset of Jimbo will bring back the offense we had when he was here in the early 2000s when we had Rohan Davey/Jamarcus Russell and Josh Reed/ Dwayne Bowe. Seeing how Jimbo left the Florida St program and now how his program looks in College Station, I am embarrassed that I wanted him as our head coach back in 2016 and I can’t imagine the disaster that would have been if Woodward hired Jimbo last year.

It wasn’t dumb to want jimbo in 2015. He was as big of a name we could possibly get at the time and it made plenty of sense

F King and our worthless governor did one thing right: blocking the jimbo coups over politics and pr

Jimbo never excited me but up until recently I thought he was a decent coach who’d consistently win around 10 games. Didn’t think he was a home run hire like BK but not a bad hire.

No reason to be. Everyone wanted their own 2013 FSU

I wanted him too at the time. However, it was easier to dismiss the problems at FSU as a one-off situation because of his divorce and the fighting between him and the admin there. They really didn’t give him the commitment to facilities and staff necessary to keep pace with Clemson.

That said, it’s easy to see now that he can’t maintain a good program culture. When the same shite happens at two different places, it isn’t an accident. What’s really crazy is that Jimbo actually IMPROVED their program culture over what was there before he arrived. That’s pretty embarrassing.

One more thing- we were used to pro-style offenses that just weren’t being run very well. Jimbo looked like a viable option to come in and fix the problems we were having back in 2015. That was just long enough before modern offenses really took hold everywhere in the P5 that he still looked like a good option. With his outright refusal to change, he looks like an absolute dinosaur today.

Jimbo was basically hired. We knew it. He knew it. And, Florida State knew it!

We screwed him, and helped light the DUMPSTER FIRE that became FSU!

He would have done better here than aTm. He would have landed in a more talent rich school without the self doubt of the FSU fiasco.

That negative experience has made him more conservative and controlling of his offense.

The FSU debacle should have clued the Aggies into caution, but LSU’s interest triggered their little brother LSU jealousy. They went all in.

Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving group of little be-itches.

I disliked Jimbo and the job he did in Baton Rouge. A better coordinator would have lead the team to a championship. He never called a game I liked. I thought he was like Mack Brown and the Auburn coach who got a great QB and won a championship off what the QB did. They won in spite of the weakness of the coaches. Without Joe Burrow, who thinks coach O would have won a championship. The only credit they get is bringing in the QB. Johnny Manzell was another player that made a poor coach look better than they were. Jamis Winston should get the credit.

That is far in the rear view at this point. We have fired & hired 2 coaches since then with a national championship & a heisman trophy in our trophy collection. There was more potential for greatness in Fisher at that point than today. We dodged a bullet, but regardless we would have moved on from him had we hired him. Time to flush that turd

The offensive game just passed Jimbo by. He used to put a decent product on the field and obviously had good results for a long time with the NC and being 8-2 in bowl games.

He needs to relinquish play calling duties or he is done. He was innovative at one time, but isn't anymore.

With that said, aTm is not LSU and Les Miles and O managed to win an NC here, so he probably could have done the same before the bottom fell out due to not adjusting offensively.

Neither did I, nor could understand anyone thinking he was a elite coach. Didn't people watch him take Florida State to the bottom of the ACC?

I certainly didn't want that washed up guy. He hasn't done much except when he had the crab leg thief.

No way Woodward tried to hire fisher last year. Fisher was going to be canned if Woodward didn’t take him from FSU. No way he makes that mistake twice.

I thought it was. He was going to cost way too much and was leaving Florida St in shambles. He screwed Fl St.

Same with the fella from UH. He would’ve lasted here as long as he did at UT.

I keep reading this, but what is this based on? Hasn’t resulted in more wins. What’s so different now?
