Kiffin is the only answer. Elite recruiter, elite play caller and he knows what it takes to win on the field and on the recruiting trail in the SEC. He’s matured off the field and is ready for a top tier job.
And anyone that can have Ole Miss in the middle of the playoff discussion has to be a stud coach. They are probably the best team in the SEC right now.

My first choice is the same now as it was back then which was always Dan Lanning. I still stand by that, make him say no. (Kirby aint going anywhere).
Hard to ignore what they got going on up at Indiana though. That guy didn’t lie, he wins everywhere and backs up his talk.

Same as last time, Kiffin. We know what he is capable of at a subpar SEC program. He’d kill it here. We’d throw a few games here and there, but the ceiling would be much higher…

What the hell makes Kiffin an elite recruiter, besides slinging money around to transfer portal guys?
Lane Kiffin has recruited roughly around 25th for HS classes his time at Ole Miss. That is nowhere near elite, and is actually downright bad for an SEC school. Yes Ole Miss doesn’t have the resources LSU has, but at least be honest. Kiffin has never been some elite recruiter. He has slung out some money to transfers the last couple years.

I’d have Curt Cignetti on the list. He was on one of Saban’s 1st staffs at UA, and Saban speaks highly of him. Has a very good coaching record & anyone who can have Indiana 8-0 is no dummy

One the big knocks on him is that he isn’t a good recruiter.
He had a good transfer portal class but that’s not how you build sustainable success.

I like Lane but he is far from an elite recruiter. Each year he needs to hit the transfer portal and that is not a recipe for long term success. I think he is great with offensive play calling but at certain times he takes unnecessary risks which end up costing the game.

No chance you get any of those three for less than you paid for current coach. You let a moron set a precedent with the kelly contract. You will be stuck with taking a lesser guy if you want to pay less or matching what kelly got as a starting point for a top guy.
