We still can't depend on either of them to throw a strike when needed, and if they do, they throw a flat fastball down the middle that gets hammered more often than not. Until both of them learn to throw strikes with their secondary pitches and get ahead of batters, they will not be much help to LSU.
That is what our top pitches have learned to do..Holman, Jump and Herring. After that we almost never know what to expect.

He just needs to keep it mentally

This has always been the issue

When he is coasting, he's as good as anybody, but face some adversity and it can completely fall apart.

Seems when he's off he falls off to the left after his pitches too much and he's missing outside left on right handed batters.

His mechanics are really fricked up. I'm glad other people see it too.

That ump had a hard time deciding where his outside strike zone was. He gave everyone a hard time with his inconsistency.

Not to highjack the thread, but that's EXACTLY why I agreed with the decision to leave Ulloa in for the 9th last night. The kid comes in at the tail end of a slug fest, walks two in a row and strikes out the next two in the 8th. Comes back for the 9th no worse for wear and gets the job done. It was the perfect situation to test the kids ability to face adversity in the postseason, and he obviously showed he is capable.

Hurd and Little pitched well.

at times, but ultimately, both put us in a tough spot. Neither can be trusted unfortunately.

Hurd was great first two innings, then completely lost it. Little just couldn't get it done.....should have been out of inning but lost his control. If they would step up LSU would have a real shot to get to and do damage in Omaha.

Did you watch USC post game press conference? Messina said he’s been facing little since they were 14.

Aren’t opponents avg like mid 200s the first time around against him and then mid 500s 2nd time around?

I didn’t really have much to say about the balls and strikes last night we got to the top of 7 when he clearly expanded the top of the zone calling strikes on Milam first two pitches that were above his shoulders which made him have to chase strike 3 after being 3-3 on the night. He immediately did the same to Brown.

When the bottom half rolled around he squeezed Loer on two strike 3 calls to the lead off guy who ends up singling to RF. It didn’t matter though cause the next rolled into one and we end up getting off the field with no damage and McCreery falls apart in the 8th.

I thought we were going to see a repeat of CWS Game 3.

Except when he stepped up in the biggest stage and won CWS for LSU when it mattered.

He will turn it on at the right time.
This entire team knows how to battle.
Like I said the other night we're getting hot at just the right time. We've seen this before. I think our own fans forget we are fricking LSU. There is no other program above us. Screw USC and their old arse titles.

We are them.

That was when the USCe coach tried to challenge after too much time had passed, not a bad call behind the plate
