Right. Texas, Arkansas, UNC are game over. Vandy, UGA, LSU are next in line. FSU, Auburn are very much lurking. UCLA, Oregon St, Oregon are west coast bias candidates. Coastal Carolina is small school bias candidate. Clemson is a win the ACC tourney and steal a spot candidate. None of those teams can steal from my first 3, but something has to give somewhere if an unlikely candidate makes it.

I am a little taken aback by the massive reaction to a tweet that suggested I felt good about LSU getting a top 8.
But it reinforces how much this fan base cares, and that always makes me happy.

The Baseball America and D1Baseball polls aren’t a factor in the selection process. I’m getting a ton of No. 1 responses. That just doesn’t really matter next Monday.

There are currently 6 teams with better combinations of RPI and Q1 wins. It stands to reason that we are 7th using those two metrics, which are heavily weighted. It doesn’t look likely that there’s anyone below us that would jump us.

It's been spelling out multiple times, but multiple people in this thread. If you refuse to believe it then that's on you.
LSU is in a good spot. Nobody is saying they aren't, but there are also other factors in play.

How can the number 1 ranked team in the country not be a top 8 seed? How can they drop LSU to 9 after winning a series on the road? Even against a terrible SC team, i don’t see that happening.

LSU has more quad 1 wins that Georgia. And a better quad 1&2 record than Georgia and Arkansas.

Technically, correct. Practically.. not correct. The selection committee are humans too and watch the human polls (along with RPI and ELO) just like us and have a running spreadsheet of all the polls.
LSU is a Top8 lock… actually probably the 2 or 3 seed currently. We’re closer to getting the overall 1 seed than we are to falling out of the Top8.
The unanimous across-the-board human polls #1 team has never been left out of the Top8. It’s never happened, and it won’t happen this year, and it won’t happen ever.
